Ba-bump!
The second one about the spider silk could be ERASED? In the opening, the three victims of the killer have strings of spider silk behind them and it's supposed to be symbolic of that if the MC can solve the mystery, all of their lives will be spared.
Never heard of it but will watch it! But no, it’s some weird silly saying (Steins;Gate has it) about having despair making you go for even the smallest chance you got but by gosh it’s not much to go on.
Bump again!
Ba bump one more time
Bumping again, the quote was more or less a repurposing of the old tale of “The Spider’s Thread”, if that helps with context.
Blue Literature? Death Parade? Hoozuki no Reitetsu?
Edited by TwiddlerNahh, I don’t think I’ve seen those before but I got a sneaking suspicion that they’re way better than whatever it was I watched.
In a late point of this show’s season (arc 2/3 probably?), there was strange allegory about how when a person is in a well or a pit and is stuck and all that, “they’ll grasp at any rope they see, even a single strand of spider silk”. This was accompanied by visuals of the person being in an actual well with light shining down on them, and I believe there were human skeletons beneath him (to the best of my memory, at least). The actual quote is likely a stylized translation of “Those in the pit of despair will grasp out for anything to save them, even if it is only some thread” and the arc ends with the main character remembering that quote and stating that they were going to free themselves of the despair they fell into and it gave a bunch of cheesy symbolism of them grabbing up towards the sky in said pit IIRC. I watched it when it was still popular, around 2010-2014 I think.
※I was originally searching for 2 titles but found one of them, Eureka Seven! :^)
