Jane and the Dragon?
No. Jane and the Dragon is CGI. The show I'm trying to find is animated in 2D.
Number 1 CGI Fireman Sam defenderAre you sure it was on Nick Jr? Is it possible it was on another channel?
I'm fairly positive it was Nick Jr...I remember finding on the website (like, the pre-2009 Nick Jr. website; that's how long it's been). I don't think I saw on Playhouse Disney (yeah, I haven;t seen it since then), PBS Kids, or Treehouse, and those are the only channels with websites I could play on.
Number 1 CGI Fireman Sam defenderThis is probably a stretch, but I remember a Backyardigans episode where a character jumped out from behind a tree and said “Who goes there?” I don’t think that episode had knights in it, though. However, Backyardigans did several episodes with knights/dragons, so it’s possible you could’ve seen an episode out of context.
Or I could be completely wrong, lol.
It was definitely not the Backyardigans, since the characters were human, and I'm pretty sure if it was them, they wouldn't have had British accents because I watched the original North American version (besides, the UK version is pretty much impossible to find these days).

Keet cleanup
This show (I think it was on Nick Jr) is generally aimed at preschool kids, and had a knight and (I think?) a princess who had British accents. All I remember is the opening of an episode where the knight pops out from behind a tree and says "Who goes there?", but then softens when he sees the audience and greets them.
And no, it's not Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom. I can tell because the series I'm talking about had better, kind of anime-like animation. It's not Mike the Knight or Nella the Princess Knight either, since it had 2D animation (debunking the former) and I last remember seeing it when I was a child, so from about 2008-2010 (debunking the latter).
