The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
Are you sure that example of yours is accurate? Because I'm not really sure as to why they'd skirt around something as innocent and non-controversial as a heterosexual romance. Things aimed at children can normally mention that openly.
Either way, Never Say "Die" is the trope you're looking for here. It's for all examples of using euphemisms to skirt around issues that are deemed "too sensitive" for the target audience. It isn't specific to death.

Is there a trope for when a work avoids using certain terms? Like Never Say "Die" but not for death.
For example, in Pokemon Live Delia dated Giovanni and was a part of Team Rocket... except the musical never calls it that. Delia was "Giovanni's friend" and she "hanged out" with "what would later become Team Rocket".
