I would use the primary URL for any external link, rather than going through shorteners. While these may persist, they may not, and external links should be treated as permanent records to the maximum extent possible.

For what it's worth, in this specific case the shortener is provided by Youtube itself. It's the link they provide to people who want to share the video

I did it 'cause Main.Youtube use is something we want to clear out, and searching for the difference between the URL, and the wick, is hard.

Unless I look at actual HTML page source...

And also, yeah, it's shorter on here.

I'm not sure what you're asking. All I noted was that the you.tube links are from the youtube website itself, provided to people who click the share link. it acts as a redirect to the proper youtube page.
