Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.

You want the "Is This an Example?" thread.
... also, no, no it does not.

Does this entry on Trivia. No Antidote fit the trope? It seems to be wholly against domesticating animals.
" Reality Subtext: In the discussion of starter Pokemon like Bulbasaur, who are conditioned into docility to the point where they won't leave their trainer even if their trainer dies, and waste away, the head of the Pokemon League admits that it was always assumed they'd just go wild. One could make a similar argument with domesticated animals—if a dog's loving owner dies or is injured out in the wilderness, the dog isn't very likely to just go "I'm free, I'm free" and run off due to being domesticated—they either bark for help or stay with the corpse for quite awhile. There's even a dog in Mexico who visits his owner's grave every day, despite the fact that he could stay in the family's house where he grew up. Animal conditioning is very serious business indeed."
