There is Bragging Rights Reward when the reward is pretty much worthless at the point of the game you would be capable of earning it.

Is there a trope for when you get a reward for accomplishing something difficult/time-consuming, but the reward isn't as good as something you can acquire much easier? The example I'm thinking of is in Assassin's Creed: Black Flag where completing all 30 assassination side-missions gets you the Pistol Swords, but not only do they have the same stats as swords you can buy for fairly cheap much earlier in the game, they have a couple of minor downsides that the buyable swords don't have.
