Come to think of it, that specific example sounds like a Colbert Bump, where something relatively obscure becomes popular again, due to being mentioned in a popular work.

So Alice did that great feat and/or died that glorious death. It was discussed, published then forgotten. Then a popular media work suddenly brings a new wave of fame to Alice after a few decades. What trope is this?
This is for the Trivia section of Uma Musume. After Episode 7, netkeiba, a popular Japanese horce racing site, reported that Silence Suzuka's page became the top most accessed page. The horse is dead since 1998. (Obvious pun is obvious, but this dead horse is unbeaten)
