- The movie The Forbidden Kingdom.
- Also happens in Night At The Museum 2, where Larry sadly leaves Amelia Earhart behind at the Smithsonian (sans magical artifact, so she'll never come to life again) and promptly meets an identical modern girl in New York.
Oh man, I could just gag. Thanks for your help.
If you can read this, please tell me to get OFF tv tropes and do my homework.
"Don't I know you from somewhere...?"
IS THERE A TROPE for the overused plot devise where the main character, after going through a huge adventure and forming a bond with a love interest that ends in either in death or separation(due to some interdimensional rule/space time continuum BS) ALMOST IMMEDIATELY meets an identical counterpart in modern clothing to date/meet/fall in love with all over again?? Almost as if they could have just brought them back.
Not quite Wizard of Oz where you're friends/family shows up in the adventure(much more tolerable) But more along the lines of Forbidden Kingdom's ending and Night at the Museum(1 or 2) between Ben Stiller and Amy Adams' character. I just know there has to be a trope for this...
