Your question is so vague that I'm not even sure what you're asking, but the general rule is that if you find factually incorrect information, you can remove or fix it without consulting anyone. This applies universally, even in YMMV places.

Even if you're "biased", you should at least be able to identify objective facts about a work separately from subjective reactions and opinions. If you don't trust yourself to judge subjective stuff appropriately, then it's best to stay hands off of the subjective stuff. But even a biased editor can identify facts.

For instance, I have a very negative opinion about Twilight, but I've seen all the films thanks to Rifftrax. So I'm not going to bother adding anything to the YMMV page, but if I see something based on an actual event in the story that contradicts what actually happens, I'm capable of fixing that. (I'd bear in mind that I haven't read the books, though, so I'd be careful about things that may only happen in the books and not the films, or vice versa.)

If you think another troper would theoretically make the same edit for the same reason, it's not a horrible faux pas to do it yourself. I'd make sure to add an Edit Reason just in case.

TBH I'm not actually sure what the rule is, but if the edits aren't self-aggrandizing or likely to start an edit war, it's unlikely anyone will bother to call you on editing your own page.

Oh. A creator editing the page for their own work.

Now I get it.

Okay, yeah, ^this.

One extra thing to keep in mind, that has come up here before, is that it does not matter what you have planned for the work. So if, say, someone adds a trope that isn't accurate because of something you intend to publish in the future, that as-of-yet unpublished material doesn't matter, because as far as TVT is concerned, it doesn't exist.

But yeah.

Kosher:

  • Objective troping.
  • Trivia, as long as it's not just straight-up Word of God. (Like, if this trivia is verifiable from public sources, it's legit. If it's just you sharing fun facts about behind-the-scenes stuff, host it somewhere else, and then add the trivia.)
  • Fixing factually inaccurate stuff, including YMMV. "Facts" only includes actual published stuff. No future/planned or What Could Have Been stuff.

Not kosher:

  • Adding YMMV examples.
  • Anything that wouldn't be kosher on any other page, like removing YMMV items that you disagree with.
