Yeah, Naylor's pretty blatant about the race/species thing. For added fun, in a short-lived side project of his, he had the equivalent of black slaves portrayed by...raccoons. Bonus points for figuring out why THAT had some Unfortunate Implications...

In a furry webcomic I'm reading right now, characters' species is used to indicate their nationality, religion, etc. For example hyenas are black, mice are Jewish, and rabbits are Catholic. Is there a trope for this sort of thing?
