Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.

It's just a subtle way to say DILF and MILF.
Edited by Kuruni^ I beg to differ - the terms you've mentioned have been used to refer to people who do not necessarily have silver or white hair. The term Silver Fox/Vixen also doesn't necessarily indicate "I want to have sex with that" and I believe predates American pie by many, many, MANY years.
As for the OP, I'm wondering if this is an appearance trope or a people sit on chairs trope that may need to go to TRS? Thoughts?
They don't have to actually have gray hair. The characters just have to be middle-aged or elderly in addition to being good-looking.
Anyway, further discussion, if necessary, should go to Trope Talk, including any discussion about whether it needs TRS, so locking.

I am a little confused on who counts as a Silver Fox / Silver Vixen. Do they have to have grey/white hair because I've seen characters listed as this trope who are older (and attractive) but who dye their hair so they don't have grey or white hair? And also—I suspect this doesn't count but I've seen characters who fall under this category listed anyway so I figure I'll ask—do people who are not old (eg in their 30s or so) but have hair that's greyed early and are still seen as attractive count as this trope too?
