This actually seems to crop up more often in print comics then webcomics (though it does happen there too), but for some reason that's not a medium choice.
In a nutshell, the trope is an arc or event that wraps up a large number of plot threads (but not all of them) in an "epic" fashion befitting a Grand Finale... but isn't the end of its series, and wasn't planned to be (so it's not Series Fauxnale). It's not even usually meant to make the reader think it's the end. Typically, there will be one surprise twist or cliff-hanger right at the end to let the readers know the story continues, but that's not always necessary - the important part is that many storylines are brought to their dramatic height and then concluded at the same time, but without actually ending the story as a whole.
Can be used for a Retool, but isn't always.
Is there a trope for this?
