Maybe a Trope Talk thread? I don't interact enough with fan works or these tropes to be able to answer.
To answer your first question: I'm fine with including fan remakes, but the work currently under Fan Works is not a remake (since it's adapting from an animated series to a fanfic) so I think it's misuse.
I'd like to apologize for all this.
Trope Talk is usually better for clarifying scope compared to ATT, yes. Like Tabs, I don't utilize fandom stuff much so I don't have input.
(Better Than Canon is in TRS tho
so that might help clear it up)
