No, Such a Phony is about Character A expressing an opinion that Character B is an annoying person and a phony... Then becoming a phony themselves when Character B enters by acting happy to see them. The irony that Character A is also a "phony" is the point of the trope.
Your example seems to hinge on a stereotypical assumption that all goths like emo or dark metal music, and not realizing it is a stereotype.

Is there such a trope for where someone assumes someone from a subculture is a phoney because their interests are so far from what's expected of the subculture? Is it Such a Phony?
