openCharacters trampled underfoot at a dance? Film
Hey tropers, I remember watching a live-action movie at my friend's house sometime in the early 2000s, probably 2002-2004, in which the main character's parents (?) were killed at a dance when they fell off a stage (?) and were trampled underneath the other dancers. I remember you just see some blood spurting up across the dancer's clothes. The main plot was something to do with a young woman who wanted to be a dancer/singer. I also remember a scene where she was cupping her breasts in front of a mirror. I remember thinking it was pretty stupid and kind of inappropriate (I was a sheltered kid) so it was probably a more teen-oriented movie than something for little kids. I kinda want to find out what it was just out of sheer morbid curiosity.
openAsian Movie about a woman who anger the spirits of the departed in a festival Film
I remember only two things about this movie, one of them is not that much of a spoiler since it's what makes the story goes forward, and the second is a major ending-plot-twist-spoiler:
1 - A woman, the main character, is invited to participate in a festival (I don't recall what kind of festival it was. I take it was a festival for the departed/deceased) and as everyone is taking their seats to watch a certain presentation, she sits on the front row. Everyone looks at her as if she was a spawn from Hell, and she looks around her and see a lot of people that weren't there. The front row is reserved for the spirits of those that have departed, and by sitting on that row, she has angered them.
2 - (MASSIVE SPOILERS)
We find out (probably on the last minutes of the movie) that the man that have been accompanying her all this time has been dead, which explains many situations when people act rude to him, as in walking straight at him without apologizing or cleaning a table and throwing the scraps at him. Since the main character sat on the front row on the movie's beggining, she saw the man, whereas everyone else not.
I'd be very grateful if anyone could help me find the name of the movie, I've been, sincerely, looking out for it for a few years.
openold tv movie
All I remember is a futuristic story of a man who breaks the law. At his trial he is prosecuted by a computer, He is found guilty and for his punishment he must pick a man from a work gang, who is older and ill and exchange brains. This is from late 50s early 60s. Hope this sparks some memory I've been searching for years.
openanimated mystery/adventure/detective series in drawing style like tintin, blake&mortimer,... Anime
I would be eternally grateful if someone could help me finding the title or just any information about this show. I saw it on Belgian television -probably the channel brt2/ketnet/tv2 (maybe vtm but I think not)- somewhere between 1994 and 2000. Must be somewhere in the same era that I saw ‘The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest’-series on tv.
The drawing style was something like tintin, blake & Mortimer,… .
It was an adventure/mystery/detective kind of show that was set in an era somewhere before or just after WWI, I think I remember biplanes and that kind of era cars. The main villain of the series had something special about him, I think he had a cane? Weird eyes??? Mask??? Sometimes I think he had a hook or claw but I think that’s just my imagination running away with me.
What I clearly remember was an episode where the main villain was pretending to be a priest and praying in a churchlike environment, good guy(s) enter and het reveals himself and I think in that same episode the good guy(s) were put in a jail (I guess in the catacombs of that church) and that water was pouring, the water level was rising….
I also remember (I think it was the same show) an episode with had something to do with stonehenge and some stone slabs which when put in the correct order created a portal of some kind. But that could be a different show, I guess it must be.
But I do think that the show had something to do with finding artefacts or something like that. Also I always thought that the name of the detective/main good guy was in the title somewhere but that can again be my imagination or just how they translated the show’s title to Dutch.
Recently I’m also starting to think (I’m looking for that damn show a long time now) that maybe it wasn’t a series but just one movie because I remember so little about it.
Edited by darthloathopenDoctor Who Brigadier Comic Webcomic
Looking for a particular comic (or even just the artist who created it) that's about the birth of the Brigadier from Doctor Who. What I remember about it is that the baby Brigadier had an adorable moustache, and that the whole thing was drawn in a sort of sepia tone way. For whatever reason, I can't seem to find it.
openWas on Cartoon Network (I think) Western Animation
As a kid, I watched this one cartoon show with a Dexter Lab's-esque art style to it, the only episode I remember of it where one character has a small Komondor dog (mostly known as the mop dog◊). The episode focuses on the dog as it get bigger and more hairier, even growing past the house and need to be kept outside, and it got really huge and explodes to a small red blob. Cue ending of that episode. I would like to know to name of the cartoon but all I remember is just that one episode.
Edited by RaddishesopenStop-Motion Foreign Kids' Show About Girl Becoming A Teenager
This was super weird and I watched it on an airplane in maybe 2005ish. It was translated from another language, maybe Spanish or Portugese, and I'm pretty sure it was claymation. There was this family with their grouchy daughter and their son who was like 6. The son went to wake the daughter up and she started screaming at him to leave her alone. They take her to a doctors' office and they discover that she's becoming a teenager and that's why her personality is changing. They take her to this room (?) where there's a wall and paint to test if she'll make graffiti or not, and also a room with a cat? I think in the end they 'cure' her. It was super weird and Googling it doesn't pull up anything.
openRetraux-style restaurant game
I remember reading somewhere on This Very Wiki about one of those "restaurant management" games. It was apparently released recently, but it's done in a Retraux style to look like a Japanese game from the 90's. I think the characters are all anthropomorphic sea creatures, and the protagonist is a pink crab. Does anyone know what this is?
EDIT:Forgot to add the medium. :P
Edited by DrNoPumaopenWhat movie is this referencing? Film
One line in a book I'm reading (Into the Dark, to be exact) mentions "an old movie" that the protagonist apparently saw. Here's the full line:
That sounds too specific to be something that the author just made up. Does anyone know what movie this is a reference to?
openPopular song with female singer Music
I recall hearing this song, possibly a pop song from the 90s. It's a rather popular song I guess as I hear it on the radio every now and then or in stores. It sounds rather upbeat. I can't make out the lyrics but to me it sounded like "Condos. Condos. Something something something spin it. Something something something minute." I just heard it today when I was in the mall but too much commotion drowned out the music and I couldn't make out the lyrics.
openProtection racket gangster killed and put in to a curry and eaten - British TV BBC Film
A one off drama about two men collecting protection racket money in the North of England, enter an Indian restaurant demanding protection money. After some months or years of this, the owner has had enough and kills one of the men and puts him in a curry, the other gangster arrives and is looking for the other gangster, the owner offers him a free curry, but the gangster is really eating his friend in crime. Probably a BBC one off drama between 1995 and 2005. Any ideas?
openA girl adopts a wolf Film
I saw this old movie back in Elementary school, but we never finished wathcing it. It was live action and told the story of a girl whose brother was killed by wolves. She lives alone, and one day a wolf came into her home. She didn't trust it at first, but eventually warmed up to it. If I remember correctly, she named the wolf Rantu.
openDetective show from the early 80s Live Action TV
I've been trying to find the name of this show for years. It was a drama. I remember 4 characters: an older distinguished detective, a new younger partner (in the first episode he was being shown around and introduced to the other characters), a perky young secretary/receptionist, and digital detective: he used a computer to do stuff like check credit records and do traces.
The episode I remember best went like this: A woman comes to the detectives - "My husband has disappeared and the police think I killed him. Our neighbor - his best friend - says he saw me stuff something large into the trunk of my husband's car and drive it away the night he disappeared". They go around interviewing friends, relatives, and co-workers and everybody says pretty much the same thing: they fought like cats and dogs, hated each other, but if he ever tried to leave her she said she'd kill him. There's a quick trial scene and she's convicted, then she's under house arrest awaiting sentencing or something. They're in the office lamenting how bad the case was and the computer guy comes out of his office and tells them that his computer has been down and he's just found credit receipts from the guy's credit card at a gas station in a small town a couple of hours away from the city. "Hey, the best friend has a cabin up near there! Ah ha!" So they rush to the woman's house to tell her the good news only to find she's committed suicide by sleeping pills and alcohol.
Please help. This has bugged me for years.
openSupergirl Comic Print Comic
I found that picture from a super girl comic where she says 'that's strange' and the other woman asks what's strange. Then Kara says 'My X-ray vision is picking up some weird plastics in your–" I really love the art style and it's such a fun sense of humor that I was wondering what artist it was from/ what issue number it was. If anyone knows, I'd really appreciate it.
openLittle girl friendship squad show
Ok so when i was younger i had a vcr player and one of the cassets we had was this one about this small group of girls who seem to have magical powers and charm necklaces that help them travel together to different worlds. I only had one episode and i used to watch it non-stop and now can never figure out its name even though i remeber it so clearly in my mind and i even have some parts memorized. The episode goes as follows: a group of girls (3 or 4) go to a carnival with two older people and they come accross a cotton candy stand. There is only one cotton candy left. They get it and the two older girls (chaparones) push the girls to share the one cotton candy between all of them, but the little girls are not willing to. Anyways they are then all traveling to another world that is a candyland where everything is made out of candy. The girls (no chaparones, they cant travel i guess) are super excited to eat the candy around them but then they are stopped by police telling them the candy is strictly off limits and that it all belongs to the king. The girls are outraged and demand to go see the king. They areive at his palace and the king is super rude and selfish who doesnt give them any candy (MINE ALL MINE) and i remeber they play a game of cards where he takes all the cards too. I acually forgot what the girls did but they ended up changing his mind and he decides to make the candy in the kingdom free for everyone and the streets of the place were filled with candy and the girls rode in the candy rivers on candy rafts. Anyways the girls travel back to the carnival place and they learn their lesson about sharing but at this point the cottpn candy stand is restocked and they all have some cotton candy and then continue playing at the carnival. I acually remeber specific lines from this show and the girls each look cute and dressed in unique colors (sort of like this modern stranerry shortcake but its not stranerrt shortcake im positive). IF SOMEONE CAN FIND THIS FOR ME I WILL BE SO HAPPY! I have been searching for years now!

openMagik kids show
For the love of all things good and holy, help! There was a show I watched once years ago on Netflix about a boy being given a necklace by his grandfather before a race. At the same time, in another world, there was a girl being chased by bad guys. Suddenly, the boys necklace starts to glow, and a portal opens up and drops him in the middle of the battle, where he meets the creatures that are battling. He saves the girl, somehow, but can't figure out how to get home. Him and the girl become friends, along with another boy, and the rest of the series is about then working together to find the way out again and defeating the villains for good. Please help me find this show, it's driving me crazy!
openScrabble Literature
There was a novel with a girl who started making decisions by drawing Scrabble tiles, like a Magic 8-Ball.
openStealing race Film
I don't remember if it was a movie or tv show but basically two men where released naked in a city and had to make the most money possible. They stole stuff like clothing and like I remember a scene where one of the guys dirties a jacket of a stranger and says that he will clean it and give it back (to use it). And basically at the end who had the most money (or object value) won. I remember that like at the end both guys had the same but one won because of a coin the other gave him at some point. Idk if I'm making sense.
Okay so when i was like super duper little i used to watch this cartoon and i really don't remember much but if u could tell me what it is or find it i would appreciate it so much. So basically all i remember is all the characters were animals and the bad guy was this fox but he wore kinda like a mask because half of his face got like ripped off by the main characters father, the main character was like this little boy or smt i don't remember what animal he was.
