openanimated mystery/adventure/detective series in drawing style like tintin, blake&mortimer,... Anime
I would be eternally grateful if someone could help me finding the title or just any information about this show. I saw it on Belgian television -probably the channel brt2/ketnet/tv2 (maybe vtm but I think not)- somewhere between 1994 and 2000. Must be somewhere in the same era that I saw ‘The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest’-series on tv.
The drawing style was something like tintin, blake & Mortimer,… .
It was an adventure/mystery/detective kind of show that was set in an era somewhere before or just after WWI, I think I remember biplanes and that kind of era cars. The main villain of the series had something special about him, I think he had a cane? Weird eyes??? Mask??? Sometimes I think he had a hook or claw but I think that’s just my imagination running away with me.
What I clearly remember was an episode where the main villain was pretending to be a priest and praying in a churchlike environment, good guy(s) enter and het reveals himself and I think in that same episode the good guy(s) were put in a jail (I guess in the catacombs of that church) and that water was pouring, the water level was rising….
I also remember (I think it was the same show) an episode with had something to do with stonehenge and some stone slabs which when put in the correct order created a portal of some kind. But that could be a different show, I guess it must be.
But I do think that the show had something to do with finding artefacts or something like that. Also I always thought that the name of the detective/main good guy was in the title somewhere but that can again be my imagination or just how they translated the show’s title to Dutch.
Recently I’m also starting to think (I’m looking for that damn show a long time now) that maybe it wasn’t a series but just one movie because I remember so little about it.
Edited by darthloathopenCartoon Or Anime Anime
So a few years back I watched this anime or cartoon and I really enjoyed it I can't really remember its name but I remember parts of the first episode: A boy wakes up and gets ready for a race he is having for school or a club or something and he has a special stone its very small around the size of a pen lid...during the race it starts glowing he blacks out and appears in another world he meets a boy and a girl which both have weird creature pet things, one was a rhino who could control vines and nature ( I think ) and the other animal I have no memory of but the main character, the boy he has his own which is summoned through the stone and its a wolf-like creature with blue and white fur... and this is all I remember.
Please can you help me find this cartoon or anime its driving me insane trying to think of its name
Edited by VoodoosanopenAnime where the protagonist fight teams of robots with his own team of robots Anime
I think the protagonist was called Commander Akira. In the show a Commander was someone who was allowed to have a team of robots that they'd use to fight other robots built for that purpose. The robots could make their own decisions but the commanders would direct them from a chair surrounded by a force field bubble. The protagonist had one (later more) teams of robots that could combine with the main one if necessary
openGundam but Extremely Tiny. Anime
A long time ago, I remember this old Gundam show where all the characters were about human sized. The main characters were a Strike and a Freedom(?) Gundam that had to go save a princess with a few humans, but there was this plot twist where the princess was fake, or something like that. I've been asking my Gundam loving friend and he doesn't seem to remember either, so some help would be appreciated.
openPanda Anime? Anime
ok so, my friend has dared me to guess what anime his skype icon is from. I will not accept defeat, but despite looking all over Google and anime boards, I can't find it. The icon is of a panda, and he confirmed it was a panda anime, but a very cutesy panda, with black hair and bangs, a hat with a gold band (I think) and a black heart on its cheek. It's also wearing a white button down shirt with a black tie and a black star on the right collar of its shirt. any and all help is appreciated!!
openAnime Where Robot Swallows Character Whole?? Anime
I remember early in my childhood seeing an episode of an anime (it was probably on Toonami, I think, so early 2000s). I remember something about a location catching on fire and a human-sized anime-style robot swallowing a kid whole to save him from the fire and then regurgitating him. I've searched keywords for this for a decade or so now to no avail. I'm fairly confident that I didn't dream this, but I have no idea what it is. The circumstances of the scene may not be exact in my memory, but I know it involved a main character (I believe a male) being swallowed by a roughly human-sized robot and then regurgitated near a fire. Any help?
openanime based on Sans Famille Anime
for ones who dont know sans famille, its the story of a boy named Remi that is sold by his parents to an old man named Vitalis (who is a traveling minstrel of sorts) only to learn they werent his parents on the first place and was found on the streets as a baby then starting his travels who have more tragedy than a soap opera if they were invented on greek times. it is not Ie Naki Ko Remi, in this adaptation the protagonist is presented as a white haired boy so its not Ie Naki Ko Remi were its a girl.
Edited by willofoneopenNot much details Anime
I watched a dubbed anime in the early 2000s that may have been a lot older as it was on TV in Ireland. The main character was a girl who may have been sent to this weird medieval world somehow. She and her allies battled monsters and cards were somehow involved. Like one of the monsters absorbed several cards to strengthen himself. It's not cardcaptors. Any ideas?
openRecent animes Anime
I'm looking for two animes. 1) I only know the basic story for this. A guy has a childhood friend, who's a girl, who comes back into town and stays at his place.
2) I only know a couple of details for this. There's this guy with a sword, a girl, a bunch of animal people, and giant blue whale monsters.
Anyone know what these are? Tell me if you do.
openAnime Sucidal Stab Scene Anime
I remeber only this one scene from an anime. A girl with long dark hair stabs herself with a katana for some kind of magical (maybe) reason while a guy is stuck against a wall and is like turning into paper. EDIT - It's probably quite recent.
EDIT 2 - The guy is turning into paper against his own will, it's not a power, it's like an attack or curse, and this attack/curse is countered by the self-stab
EDIT 3 - I think the sword wasn't a katana actually, it might have been some other sword
EDIT 4 - Stab Girl was named something like Matsuri (Hatsuri? Matsura? Who knows!)
FOUND - Her name WAS Matsuri, the sword was not a katana, the anime is Sola
Edited by TroperFromItalyopenObscure 80s anime, can't find anything about it Anime
I just remembered an anime that I watched on a Betamax at my friend's house around 2010. I don't even know if this was a real show, or just a dream I had (it HAD to be a dream).
It was released around the early 80s, maybe even late 70s. (I distinctively remember the animation looking similar to Riding Bean.) The main character was a girl, who had teal hair, and she flew a fighter jet. I don't remember the girl's name.
Now the one thing I remember about this anime was the villain. (Or maybe it was The Dragon to the villain, I'm not so sure.) The reason why is because he bared a striking resemblance to TOM. He was this lean-looking robot who had a nice chest and had a similar deep, young adult-sounding, full-of-swagger voice as TOM. He didn't look exactly like him (I remember he was jet-black, and I don't remember if he had a visor), and I think I dreamt this part, since there's no way Cartoon Network would base their anime block mascot on a character so obscure. (Also, this character wasn't voiced by Steve Blum.)
I remember watching the English dub, and I remember the teal-haired girl's voice sounding like one of June Foray's voice roles, though I'm sure it wasn't her.
Though I'm really beginning to think I made this show up.
openHelp finding an anime... Anime
There's a certain anime I've been trying to find for years now without any success. In it, a girl with blonde hair was rescuing a boy with red hair from...something in what I vaguely recall to be the desert. She also had to push through some sort of windy magic/power to reach where he was trapped, and upon reaching him I believe she hugged him. If this helps, there was once a fairly popular AMV about it on You Tube, set to "Inama Nushif" from Children of Dune (this AMV is the only place I've seen evidence of this series, and unfortunately it now appears to be deleted). If anyone can tell me the name of it, I'd greatly appreciate the help. Thanks for your time.
openDetective cartoon show Anime
Hello please help me. I'm looking for a cartoon show I've watched in the early 2000s. There are 2 detectives. They solve many problems and search for many artifacts arround the world. One of them is fat or short. On one epidode they were inside a palace that looked like Taj Mahal or something belongs to Arabs. They were looking for a trasure. One of them find a button on the wall. He pressed it. The water in the pool before them goes down revealing a hole (or stairs). under the pool. They enter the hole before bad guys fly in to catch them.
openAnyone know this Manga? Anime
I'm trying to remember a manga I once read. I can remember parts of it but not what it was called or what it was mostly about. I'm going to put what I remember about it and hopefully one of you may be able to identify the manga. The meat of the story dealt with an event that seemed to either kill people or give them power (I think it was in the form of a rain or mist). The main antagonist was a teen who could create explosions and was immortal for some reason (I think he had some magic stone embedded into his bod) I believe the author died but the manga was still finished. It may have an anime adaption. I believe there was an intelligent animal, like an owl or something. I may be wrong,
The Fighting was not over the top shonen fair. Thanks for any help!
open80s PBS Kids Show about a robot/spaceman? Anime
I think it was a spaceman or maybe a robot who landed or maybe crashed in a field and now has a tiny puppet mouse as a friend? I think the show was focused on math
openA show I seen a youtube clip of Anime
So a while ago i stumbled on a YT vid and I can't seem to find the show even though I have looked very hard. So there was two boys and a girl and they were camping in the woods. then they had to fight something and they called out their monsters. it was like a mix of beyblade, and yugioh( they used some kind of cards). i also remember thinking that their devices looked like yo-yos. Any help finding this would be awesome.
openGang related anime i think Anime
I am trying to find an anime I remember watching awhile back. Most of it is vague but it was about some kind of gang I think with all members being forced to where their symbol on either a earring or necklace. The symbol was half the yin yang like a ball with a curvy tail there was also a hole in the middle of the circle. it started off with a girl returning home to them or something. Thanks so much and I hope to get an answer.
openAdam and eve in a zoo Anime
Ok, so ive been trying for awhile to peg down what the H this show or movie is called for years now. When i was young me and my sister fell asleep with the tv on and in the middle of the night i woke up and continued watching tv, but the program that was on was really weird. It was aired on "Showcase". I think it was British, there was one seen of a homeless woman maybe but still pretty of course and she says something rude to another woman or grabs her maybe? But then theres this naked, interracial, Adam and Eve thing going on in a Zoo after closing. Theyre naked, theres a little hut or house, Eve eats a fruit and vomits, and they have intercourse in the house and they come out of the zoo to flashing flights and cameras and stuff. This is all i can remember and ive been trying for so long to figure it out, the scenes are vivid in my mind. "Eve" has short blonde hair and Adam is a muscley, bald, black man. Can anyone help me?

I am pretty sure it is either an anime or a manga, but which one? All I remember was this quote, it is a bit paraphrased, but the point still stands.
"We are nothing but minds trapped inside a game called life."
That, and it was said by an antagonist. But I really forget the rest, not even the villain's appearance.
