Hey that was just in reference to Automata which he admit he ended on anmore hopeful note, and still leaves it on a "Theyll can totally fuck up and kill each other again" as expected.

Also props to him for making Dorothys swimsuit as unsexy as possible and getting complaints from the staff about low sales.

Yeah, giving her a full steampunk diving suit for the obligatory swimsuit alt was 10/10.

Yoko Taro should make a Fire Emblem Game.

And that would end with us killing our favorite unit to save another player.

It ends with the realization that whomever you married was secretly a psychopath tricking you into slaughtering all their enemies and getting their rival allies killed via permadeath, and your avatar doesn't care because they love them so much and just agrees to keep on being used to stay with a spouse who sees them as a tool.

Yoko Taro might not be allowed to go full-on bonkers if the Fire Emblem people are very protective of their IP.

But hey, if we're talking about stuff we want, I want a crossover between Monster Hunter Stories and Three Houses, if mostly to talk about what kind of monster each character would have as a partner.

No, the best dark Fire Emblem story is Genealogy if you kill off everyone but Seliph in the second gen and go with the Alternative Character Interpretation that he and not Julius is the real Antichrist.

So, what I'm seeing is that going back to a fully-realized Lord without an Avatar will change nothing.

Good. I think it's better for story and character interactions that way.

With an Avatar and a changing story, it's tricky if you have them talk.

Like the Avatar may have different opinions than you.

Like i don't sympathize with a certain Pineapple younger brother.

Disagreeing with the avatar meant to represent the player always struck me as amusingly ill-conceived in some support convos.

Like Corrin's support with Odin in Fates, Corrin is off-put by and critical of Odin's... mannerisms. All the way into S-Support. Problem there is that pretty much nobody's having their avatar support and marry Odin if they don't actually like his chuuni routine.

I always figured that the developers didn't mean for the "My Unit" characters to be full-on "player insert" characters. Which I'm fine with, since I like every single one of them.

I'm definitely in the camp of wanting to see Avatars in future games. Hopefully we'll get a game where we can get to customize the Avatar to a greater extent.

Agreed to an extent; it's always weird to have Corrin look younger than Elise/Sakura, and it's impossible to have Robin look anything like their father. Cut the familial relationships, though, and I'm 100% down.

I suppose that's why we never see Robin's mother; clearly they took after her much more than Validar. Kind of like how Byleth takes much more after their mother compared to Jeralt.

I wonder how long it'll take for us to get an Avatar where we can edit their skin color.

I prefer "avatar" characters with a defined personality, like Robin or Corrin, compared to Heroic Mime characters like Byleth.

Also, should the next avatar be an actual mime?

And we must assume that Mikoto's genes were totally overwritten by Emo Dragon.

Anankos is capable of changing people's hair color at the very least, so I would NOT be surprised if he did it to Corrin to make sure people don't go "Hey, the kid looks kind of familiar to that dragon that went nuts..."

I'd also love to see another dragon Avatar, especially if we get to choose what kind of dragon they turn into. Don't know if I want the dragon type to affect their stats or be purely cosmetic yet.

Even Persona or SMT blank slates cna have more personality by giving then actual options.

Or you can go full bunny and give tons of random madness coming out of his mouth.

Another Avatar idea: have them be the Dancer/Bard. They start off as a performer and can potentially end the game as a sovereign.
