So the hitting on girls and not understanding the rejection part... hmm, seems like the main Casanova Wannabe type character of the game...let’s hope he’s got at least some charm and nuance hidden in there somewhere.

The flower on his suit is fake though according to a translation of the tweet, so maybe he’s so tryhard fancy that it wraps around to funny.

Of course it's completely different. One has a "t" in it; the "t" stands for "tryhard."

Though I do wonder if the characters that would normally be really, really snippy towards the protagonists will be a bit more polite, seeing that this time the protagonist holds their grades in their hands. Though I suspect all that means is that the really rude characters just go for passive-aggressiveness instead of outright douchebaggery.

Soo... I kinda wanted to ask a Genealogy-related question.

I was going for a Ranked Run, and I easily get what the gist behind most ranks. Which for me include Tactics, (Finish the game in 399 turns or less.) Survival, (Do not lose characters in combat) and Combat. (Do not get more than 3 losses in battle, which the game remembers even if you reset it. And the only way to get another chance is to just simply re-start the chapter from the beginning)

My question is in regards to the Experience A Rank. (Get a whopping 1000 level ups!)

Do I like... Need to level up EVERY single recruitable character to their max level in order to achieve an A Rank in that category?

How do you even get 1000 level ups in 399 turns? What madman would ever be able to level up two times and a half every turn of the game?

You use the arena.

Good old Arena Abuse! I used it in the GBA games. And I will abuse the hell out of it here!

Hmm. With how dangerous the arena is, can't say I've ever been able to send someone more than a single time in them without needing healing.

You guys realize that Arena works differently than other FE games because FE 4 is different from other FE games. Arena is essentially a 7-man gauntlet where you fight to get money and experience. Losing doesn't mean death but you are stuck at 1 HP, which could be helpful for healers since they can't enter the arena for the money and experience.

I should also mention that the Arena works a bit differently in Genealogy.

As in this arena, your characters dont actually die if they lose. But they are leaved with 1 HP.

The Genealogy Arena also has a preset type of opponents that change per chapter.

Also, every character can only win a certain amount of times before it runs out of challengers.

Oh, I see. That is indeed much different than the other arenas I've seen, and it makes much more sense.

Chapter 8

So... ballista. I'd have to let Florina be shot by that, but she could survive because 8x2 plus 4 is still not enough to kill her plus she has resistance against the mages near the village... which didn't matter because they attacked Serra. Still, she was in range to kill that Archer.

Lyn has her Mani Katti for the mercenary and the 2 cavaliers.

Florina visit the village and gets the Lancereaver, which might come in handy.

I find it weird that this and maybe next chapter is the only chapter where the reinforcement appear at the end of the player's turn instaad of the enemy's, which never happens anywhere else in the game. But they are still soldiers...

The bosses is accompanied with a league of enemies with reaver weapons, so Lyn took the front of the enemy first to kill them. Florina attacked the Brigand with a Swordreaver and Lyn finished off the boss who has an Axereaver.

Got some last-minute training in. Charlotte now has Aurgelmir and Axefaire, which I'm reasonably sure makes her an officially certified death goddess. She can now hit over 170 on a crit, which she gets 88% of the time.

My Charlotte has Astra, which turned out to be major overkill because she usually crits on the first hit. I’ve never seen anyone make it to Hit #5 (to be fair, I’ve never sent her up against Dragonskin bosses).

I'm going to try siccing her on Anankos. Even with Dragonskin she should be able to shave off the vast majority of his HP.

Charlotte is the real Est archetype in Fates, not Mozu.

I actually gave her Paragon because I was concerned she wouldn't promote before the Chapter 18 Difficulty Spike with the side chapters. But once she did, ohhhhhhhhh once she did... ahahahahahahahahahahaha!

You know what's fun with Charlotte, she has like at least 70 damage with the S-rank axe. Upon the strength debuff, she still does 50 damage which is more than enough for what's getting thrown at you. It's very fun using Berserkers, sometimes.

I've always liked axes best of the weapon types for some reason, along with magic, which unfortunately took a significant nerf in Fates.

A new teacher, Manuela. A former songtress who became a teacher and a doctor at the academy. Still looking for the man of her dreams.

Eh, there may be a lot of junk tomes, it's still worth using Fire, Horse Spirit and Calamity Gate. Mjolnir, Nosferatu and Lightning also have their uses.

There's a few good tomes left sure, but don't expect Awakening or lategame Genealogy levels of tome broken-ness, or give everyone in your army tomes.

Ah, yes, the lovely lady from the trailer. I wonder what they mean by "A bit crude". I adore her already.

The dress code for teachers is clearly much more relaxed than students'.

So long and thanks for all the fish, Anankos! I can't believe it; I beat both chapters in one try, and didn't need any deus ex machina crits this time!
