You see what I do for you Fawriel? Bluh!
Also, this Wriggle doujin I found that makes Wriggle look like a complete cry-baby.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOh, it's the teahouse again! Thanks!
Well, that was neat. I don't like how it called them both fools, though. There was nothing else in the story that suggested stupidity on either of their parts in my eyes. Pointing at them saying they are fools seems like unexpectedly lazy writing. Unless it was used in the romantic sense.
I already knew the other one. I'd say it holds the second-best thing to ever come out of the Yuuka/Wriggle pairing, but then, Wriggle in lingerie barely looks like Wriggle at all!
Haaah, there's some pictures about her that I want to draw and show off, but there's no chance of me being able to upload them anytime soon... Quite unfortunate. I also kinda like talking about her for some reason, but I guess the conversation's slowly running out of steam and we should start pondering whom to deal with next.
Man, if Wriggles really is someone whose personality keeps changing, I bet she'd be an amazing roleplayer...
And she wouldn't have to worry about losing herself in her roles, because she'd be able to discard them just as easily!
In my mind, if Cirno hadn't interceded, she would follow this up by pushing one of the humans over and doing a jig on them until she gets bored and wanders away, or decides she's scared 'em straight.
I prefer to think of her as being basically harmless to humans. I know it's projecting human values onto a strange and wild youkai, but I like to think that she'd only consider hurting egregious cases, like mosquito control truck drivers. She wouldn't be able to get along with anyone if she didn't think of her insects in collective terms, you know?

I wonder how much she'd value the life of a single insect in the first place. That insects die is just kinda a fact of life. I doubt that she'd, like, break out in tiers if she sees one dead bug... A whole swarm, perhaps. But insects just live for the collective, I guess.
That's what makes her possible cloudcuckoolander personality so intriguing. Certain aspects of her personality would be ruled by bug-like thinking. Of course, bugs don't think. But their instincts are purely geared towards utilitarian benefit of the whole of insectdom. No feelings. On the other hand, all the entirely new humanoid parts she gained in her transition to youkai-dom are independent from that and even clash with those insectoid aspects. About certain things, she'd be all Spock-like, about others, she'd be as emotional as you'd expect a young girl to be.
That would characterization would probably be mutually exclusive with the "constant changer" one, if only because that characterization alone would already be amazingly hard to write for, unless I'm just missing something. You do need SOME sort of core personality, or else you end up with someone who basically has no personality at all because they just react accordingly to everything... But wait, I'm an idiot, the cloudcuckoolander is a core personality... But it's already hard to write. What aspects are insect-like, what aren't, how to demonstrate it in an interesting way without being too obstructive... Huh.
Suddenly, I appear to have stumbled upon a Wriggle that's too interesting for her own good.
But yeah! Jiggin'.
"Step step step step step step step step STEP!!
Going back on a comment made by Durazno a few pages ago...
I suddenly remembered something from Discworld and how the mind of an insect isn't in just a single insect but is scattered in an entire hive.
I wonder if that's the case here. It would explain her randomly specific bouts of forgetfulness.
Wriggle: All right! Time to show these humans that insects can be useful too with the Insect News Ser-
*insect containing the idea of the Insect News Service gets eaten by a passing frog*
Wriggle: -vice... what was I talking about again? Oh well, couldn't have been important. Come on guys, let's look for some food!

Is it weird I imagine Wriggle voice by Johnny Yong Bosch trying to sound like a girl?
I was just thinking about that last night, so I'm just gonna leave this here.
Well, according to various psychological whatsits I've read, memories never actually go away. They're just stored away. I guess Wriggle can only recall stuff that applies to what she has/wants to do right that second; everything else is tucked away in the mental storeroom.
you'll then have a grave in the clouds where you won't lie too crampedIt's fascinating how deeply psychological this character interpretation business can get. This is the second time the concept of memories has come up...
But now! I'm working on something right now, but let's not stretch this out more than it has to be: Let's pick the next character.
OU, UU, NU, anything goes!
Eirin, Komachi, Patchouli, Rinnosuke, Mima, Akyu, Chiyuri, Elly, Medicine, Orange, Shinki, Yumemi...
Also, everyone give a big hand to Servbot for once again spoiling my lazy ass and compiling the list of discussed characters up to now! I'll update the original post now~

Ooo, I vote Patchy! (Partly because she and Eirin are the only names I recognize out of that list. )
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...I vote Komachi!
By the way, you can vote off characters like Yumemi and Orange. We're rapidly approaching the endgame! Something will happen then, and I'll need to know when "then" is... And we want the first round to finish strong, right?
I mean, I'm totally down with discussing any of these (though I only picked them because they seemed like some of the pre-Windows characters who get used a bit), but if they're only gonna hold up the discussion...
We could, of course, have the final discussion be about pre-Windows characters (excluding Mima) as a whole.

Voting for Komachi
Eirin! Eirin!
I'm personally hoping at least Yumemi gets her seperate discussion, because I like her.
I vote for Akyuu, just because I like her. A lot.
I'll throw my vote for Komachi, since it's kinda funny we didn't talk about her right after her boss.
Voting for the Locked Girl
Mitori Kawashiro? She's not on the list.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersMitori is pretty cool but she has the lamest name ever.
I vote for Patchy.
you'll then have a grave in the clouds where you won't lie too crampedTo finally get closure on a thought I had 33 pages ago, I vote Patchy.
I make video games! Or plan to, anyway.Okay, yeah, changin' my vote to Patchouli.
Still want to finish UFO. But, of those, Komachi.
Wriggle is unique in that she wears pants. Really this alone merits discussion.
Another interesting point is that Rumia and Wriggle have some sort of relationship, if the logic "they appeared in the same stage in STB therefore they know each other" is applicable.
Mokou also wears pants.
Because they're INSECTS! They CAN'T grasp the complex concepts! Their attention spans can be measured in MICROSECONDS!
I have a message from another time...
