Ayaka is indeed MSA!Kotaro's first pactio partner, but he will have others. There is a good chance that Yue will be one of them. I've already designed the resulting artifact, but whether or not it becomes canon depends.

Also, I must agree with Immi that this Batman!Negi doesn't feel like Negi.

In other news, my family and I are currently trying to decide whether or not my current job is glorified slave labour based on the fact that I barely make more than my deductions and travel expenses (I litterly earn less profit per day than the price of two cups of tea at the moment). As such, unless my sales improve dramatically this week, I'm quitting.

URAE, Continuation.

Kuga Natsuki now stood alone and silent behind the baths, wearing a solid black yukata and sipping slowly from a tiny cup of tea. She would have to return to Mahora tomorrow, and yet she had no new information on the First District yet. That trip had been a complete waste of her time. Part of her felt tempted to make up for it going out to search for them herself, but she was not in top shape after last night's incidents yet. She still was tried, and even aching in a few points. At least, that was what she told herself. Konoka's healing had left her like new, but she still was reeling from recent revelations and too rattled to think properly. Not that she would ever admit she had been dealt an emotional blow. She had to be above that.

But whatever the case was, Natsuki knew taking on the First District now in the condition, physical or mental, she was in was just short of suicide. So she just stood there, sulking on her feelings of inadequacy for the task at hand, until she felt the soft steps coming closer from behind her.

Natsuki decided to act as if nothing was happening, since she knew she was in no danger. From the hesitating and inexpert way that girl was moving while trying to be stealthy, it was clear she was the local Konoka Konoe, not even Maga Alba.

Great. The one she wanted to see the least right then.

She waited, patiently, until Konoka paused before deciding to make herself known in the open. "Kuga-sempai?"

"What do you want?"

Konoka bowed very deeply, in a gesture Natsuki barely caught a glimpse of by her own choice in posture. "I just wanted to thank you properly. Last night, you almost lost your life for me, despite having absolutely no obligations to me. Why, we never talked to each other before this..."

Natsuki grunted. "Oh, that? Forget it. I was just thinking I could get info on my mother's murder from foiling Amagasaki's scheme, but apparently I was wrong."

"Oh. Still, when you were frozen, you were about to tell me, quite passionately, you were my... My what?"

"Ah, so you still remember that."

"How could I forget it? Please, Kuga-sempai, tell me... You are my what?"

Natsuki's green eyes shifted around discreetly. She just knew Setsuna had to be somewhere watching over Konoka, and despite the Shinmeiryuu warrior being too stealthy for her, Natsuki knew perfectly well when she was being watched, even when she couldn't tell from where.

"Nothing. Forget it," the delinquent student told Konoka. "It was just a stupid mistake, a wrong—"

"I see," Konoka interrupted her, her head hanging down. "In that case... Sorry, Kuga-sempai."

"What?"

"I'm so honored you feel that way, I really am, but I can't return your feelings."

"Wait, what are you—!"

"I can tell it. From the way you talk reluctantly, and how you avoid making eye contact with me. It's just like when Chisame-chan talks to Negi-kun when she isn't bossing him around. It's okay, I'm not offended, and you don't need to feel bad. But even so... My apologies, but I already have someone else."

Two random hairs sprang up from Natsuki's perfectly combed hair. At the same time, there was a loud rustling from the top of a nearby tree, which dropped several leaves down. Natsuki looked that way and frowned.

"I don't know if that person loves me back, but I can't help having those feelings for her," Konoka was confessing. "I... I suppose I'll tell her when she's ready..."

"Her?" Natsuki's right eyebrow trembled a bit.

Konoka had to giggle lightly, giving Kuga a punch in a shoulder. "Oh, Sempai! You know perfectly what I'm talking about!"

"... Yes, I guess I do," Natsuki said, feeling torn between being disgusted, busted, and laughing cynically at the hsakings and almost whimpers coming from the treetop.

"Anyway," Konoka sighed, "You'll forgive me, won't you? I'll be praying for you to get the person you really need..."

"Um, sure, I'm fine with that..."

"Oh, that's a relief!" Konoka sighed very cutely. "I knew it was best to cut this short before it even started! Well, now that's out of the way, we should go sleep, don't you think? Tomorrow will be another quite intense day, after all."

"Yeah, I guess..."

"I'm glad you're so understanding. I always knew you were a wonderful person." And after some hesitation, Konoka leaned ahead and gave her a tiny peck on a cheek, immediately spinning around to look the other way. "Well, see you tomorrow, Sempai!"

"Ah-hah, whatever you say..." Natsuki weakly waved as she saw Konoka walk back into the building. Then she shook her head to herself and muttered, "Honestly, what's with that girl? I can't believe she's really my—"

"Your what?" an eager Konoka's head peeked right back out.

"MY NOTHING! JUST GO SLEEP AND LEAVE ME HEARTBROKEN AND ALONE!"

"Ooops, sorry! Good night!"

As soon as Kuga felt she was really, really, actually, no doubt alone, she tossed the final drops of her cup aside and began heading inside as well. But then she felt a hand grabbing one of her wrists from behind, stopping her.

"Sakurazaki!" she snarled, turning around as best as she could. "Leave me alone, will you! I swear I have no—"

Then she fell silent, looking up at the tall and decidedly not Setsuna-esque figure who still held her in place, gentle but firm.

"Natsuki," Konoe Eishun pleaded. "Please, let's talk."

[lol]

Well, it's his own fault, really. And besides, there's only a 1/13 chance of winning. And I say 1/13 instead of 1/16 because I've already decided on three of the losers, therefore increasing the odds for everyone else.

<Beat>

I just figured out a potential fourth, for maximum delicious irony. SCM gets taken out... by a Green Lantern.

Anyhow, notice that asterisk at the end of Creator and Summoner? Those two Servants are subject to change in the event that I come up with a better idea.

I've already figured out how the Magic World arc is resolved in Caped Crusader. In fact, I had it figured out almost immediately after the Joker discussion.

Hey gang, question.

(I'm putting this in Eo A, so there's a method ot my madness)

Which has a more coherent magic structure, Lord of the Rings or Ml P?

Lord Of The Rings doesn't really have a magic structure in the sense that spell X has effect Y. Magic is relatively subtle and has vague rules and limitations. It can do what is appropriate to the narrative.

@Eva Unit 01: If you really are going without a Joker, Caped Crusader needs a Bane, a Deathstroke, and/or a Raz Al Gul. The Joker is one of Batman's most threatening rogues, and without him, you're going to need bigger threats. And honestly, nobody really has the complete disregard for human life that the Joker has.

@Hyp3r The Joker only does mass murder at random. Ra's has ONLY mass murder. He wants to kill off about 90% of humanity leaving behind the best of humanity IIRC.

Joker is crazy. Ra's is psychotic. Not a small difference.

To be fair, a really good Joker should be unpredictable. Too many Joker stories fall into the easy pitfall of a large shock value bodycount, when it's the twistedness of his actions that really matters; otherwise he becomes an one note cliched serial killer with a clwon motif.

The Killing Joke, arguably the best Joker story ever, features only one actual murder, it gets no real major focus, and it's done in quite an understated way that only makes it more chilling, and actually to count.

I always felt that the Joker required a more...personal touch. What is it that would horrify you, the author, the most? What sick and twisted fantasies lurked in the back of your head, just waiting to emerge and shout, "Surprise."

One thing I want to have clear before writing anything for the Batnegi story, because as I laid story layouts out, I realized I couldn't go on without having this clear.

You are mixing original Western characters (like Mr. Freeze, Killer Moth, Croc or Bane) with Japanese characters. All of them seem based on the same city. Now, major Japanese cities don't tend to have that many American foreigners in them, much less to fill half of a Rogues Gallery (unless you take the Unfortunate Implications route of saying the environment drives foreigners to crime, or those foreigners were already prone to crime).

That tells me you need to retool the Mahora urban setting. So far, all your listed 'good guys' are from Negima, while your bad guys are half-natives, half foreigners, and the natives tend to lean towards the sympathetic side while the foreigners are mostly big nasty brutes. That is kinda troubling as well, not only because of the race unintended implications, but because of the Beauty Equals Goodness always annoying pitfall.

While writing Clown Princesses, I try to make a point the girls, while sympathetic victims of their circumstances, are, for the most part, horrible people despite of how beautiful they are. That is more difficult to show in your setting, because there, they have to be kept students at Mahora, despite the fact a group of unstable criminally inclined students should be kept far apart from the common students. Rehabilitation doesn't work that way. Negima canon's Eva case was an extreme exception, brought in no small part because Nagi was an idiot who probably didn't stop to consider Eva could seriously inconvenience the innocents around her (which granted, she didn't do for the most part, but still, it was quite an irresponsible gamble from his part). This system is difficult to rationalize, because it's consciously mixing people who should be in rehab (like Makie) or in psychiatric treatment and supervision (like Nodoka) with average sane students (or as sane as you can get in Negima anyway). This wouldn't be such an issue in a gag setting, but if you want to play it straight, it becomes a difficult obstacle to explain without it sounding forced.

But I digress. I think you need to equalize the odds by also having canon DC allies or good guys, and explain why the setting has become basically a mixture of Japan and America.

Is it sad that my always-in-motion brain thought up an explanation just after I read that?

Occupied Japan.

One of the nukes failed to go off. In that scenario, it was predicted by Allied experts that Japan would keep fighting to the bitter end, with heavy casualties on both sides if the atomic bombs did not work as promised.

World War II dragged on much longer than planned. When the fighting was done, perhaps both America and Russia kept troops in Japan longer.

It isn't pretty. But it does fit.
