Probably not for a while, since apparently they're still writing the first few scripts.

DC Daily had an episode with Weisman, Vietti, and Halo's voice actress, Zehra Fazal. Among the highlights are:

  • Season four will be 26 episodes long and will start with a time skip, just like the previous seasons.

  • It will focus on the original season one characters, but some new characters will swing in and out. Season three provided closure to character arcs and plots from the first two seasons, so the OG characters will have new arcs moving forward.

  • Season four will have a new story structure that is more experimental. They also know what the next subtitle is.

Did anyone else get Anakin Skywalker vibes from Brion in the finale? Even the music that played sounded like something out of Star Wars.

So he will end up losing limbs on a climatic battle on a volcano and be back as a cyborg a shell of what he once was?

Did anyone else get Anakin Skywalker vibes from Brion in the finale? Even the music that played sounded like something out of Star Wars.

Definitely. And don't forget the whole "Rule by my side" speech he gave.

Honestly, Brion's turn was probably the most interesting thing in an otherwise underwhelming season. I would have kind of preferred Brion killing his uncle of his own volition, but then the subsequent downward spiral into becoming this tyrannical ruler would be pretty dumb and rushed without it coming out that he was being manipulated. I hate the whole "Hero kills Villain...so now their evil" plot. What's the trope for that btw?

I don't really get the hate for Brion killing his uncle honestly. He's the prince avenging his parents and overthrowing a tyrant. He did what he had to do.

Any question of what this says about Brion's morality is kind of moot anyway, since his mind was being manipulated. Five minutes before, when placed in the exact same situation but without the mental manipulation added, he definitively chose not to do kill Bedlam.

Yeah, I was with Brion. His uncle was a monster. It would have been a waste of time to let Baron Bedlam free, because he said himself that until his last breath, he will be a threat to Brion, Tara, Gregor and every single person he cares about. But the heroes said "Heroes never kill" like Brion is totally iredeemable now and their public enemy no. 1.

And I guessed that another time skip would happen in the upcoming fourth season. Why? Every single season had one.

[up][up]It's not that heroes never kill. It's that heroes never murder. Which is what Brion did. Which was also wrong not just because it was murder, but because heroes are supposed to stand for something more than themselves. And in that moment, Brion was standing only for himself.

Not to mention using the highly televised summary execution as justification to stage a coup and take control of the county.

Luthor was right that - had the League not had perfect dirt on him - that would have been his own perfect clincher to his argument on metas.

He intended to show the world that metas were uncontrollable and dangerous: the Team prevented the former, but Brion more than proved the latter for him.

I mean, I don’t think Brion should have stayed on the team after that and it was obviously a stupid decision. He violated the biggest rule of the Outsiders. However, the way Nightwing says “You murdered that man” just rubs me the wrong way. Like, you mean the man that murdered my parents and participated in human trafficking, while also being a cruel tyrant to my country.

Yeah, no. I do think the way he killed him was brutal, though.

Brion didn't give his uncle what he deserved.

What he did was just give him an easy way out.

Plus chances are Delamb is going to be executed anyway had he been brought to Markovia court for charges of war crimes. And had he been put to trial he will be forced to give all information regarding who aided his escape, supply him with the necessary weaponry to stage a coup and disclose all related information of his ties with the Light.

So yeah Brion was right that the guy was going to die anyway, but had he lived longer he could have revealed a shit load of evidence and testimonies that would have further incriminated key Light members such as Luthor and Queen Bee.

Basically, in his anger, Brion done fucked up. He didn’t stay whelmed and got rid of the best chance at anihilating all of the Light’s effort at control and basixally gave them a new means jusy because he wants petty vengeance.

What was it that Xanatos said? “Revenge is a sucker’s game” or some shit?

I love Sandman’s version: “revenge is for suckers!”

It’s one of Greg Weisman’s defining character tropes, really.

Wasn't Bedlam already in prison at the start of the episode? Like, if he was going to expose the Light, wouldn't he have already done so while in prison the first time? Why would locking him away a second time change anything?

The point is that it was a deliberate extrajudicial killing. Regardless of his crimes, it was still murder. If it was in the heat of battle it'd have been one thing. But it wasn't.

Even beyond that, the notion of "regardless of crimes, it's never okay to take a life" is not foreign to reality. Plenty of people in the real world feel the exact same way.

[up][up]

Exactly. Bedlam was (at least at that point, though not in the future by his own admission), completely helpless.

If he'd been five seconds from turning Brion's face into hamburger meat, then maybe it'd be said to be self defence, but in that moment, it was most definitely murder.

[up]

I can get this. I think a lot of people would be mortified at taking a life, even if they had no choice but to do it to save their own lives.
