Yeah, I've heard so much unnecessary hate for James La Brie (the vocalist). It makes me sad, he's good both in studio and live. =/
Yeah, it had to happen mate. If I recall correctly, I liked his use of atmosphere, the song title In Mc Donalds, and that's it. I especially didn't like his usage of vocal samples.

http://www.last.fm/user/BlueGhost60I wish i had money to buy stuff with via iTunes, alas i do not.
Also, liking DT so far. Great, maybe even sampleworthy .
If you want me, i am still here. ElTheDaze@yahoo.comI agree with you on the vocal samples, mostly because their made with what sounds like a talk program.
I love the atmosphere though, and how swampily urban everything sounds.
If you want me, i am still here. ElTheDaze@yahoo.comI can see why some people don't like him. He doesn't have a very metally voice. I'm fine with that but just look at other metal bands they all have much darker-sounding vocalists.
Re: Daze in other thread: I'm so lost. I don't follow any bands. The only band I can name from my mp3 player is The Beatles. I remember composer's names, sometimes... >_>
(I am a dork)

Also, I refuse to use iTunes. foobar2000 is the much superior audio player. =D

http://www.last.fm/user/BlueGhost60You'll get a music liking eventually, i hated any and all music till i was about 11 or so. There's actually a name for it (which i can't remember off the top of my head) and it's not uncommon.
Try Nerdcore rap, it suits you.
If you want me, i am still here. ElTheDaze@yahoo.comNeccy: I hear you about itunes >_> they're jerks, i get music from wherever i can.
If you want me, i am still here. ElTheDaze@yahoo.comI have plenty of music! It's just not by bands! It's mostly by orchestras and stuff. Yeah. I can't participate in these conversations. I don't even listen to rock most of the time. >_>
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.I didn't get into music until I was 17.
I'm so late. At the same time, I can look with satisfaction at my current music taste and tell myself how much better it is than some of my other friends. :D
http://www.last.fm/user/BlueGhost60I have friends who didn't know who Led Zeppelin were. I almost had a heart attack. Your just fine Tzetze. Don't worry.

Ditto to what Neccy said. And there isn't anything wrong with orchestras.
also, i love this even though the video is rude.
If you want me, i am still here. ElTheDaze@yahoo.comRemember Tzetze, it's never too late. :)
http://www.last.fm/user/BlueGhost60That sounds like... oh yeah, we're in the music thread.
That's two DT songs, i'll listen to more soon, but i've got work to do too.

If you want me, i am still here. ElTheDaze@yahoo.comIf I wanted rock then I'd get some. It's not like I'm somehow disallowed. In fact I'm kind of annoyed that more-or-less all of the music produced nowadays is rock. Hype Aversion.
I'll show myself out.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.There's plenty of other genres other than rock. o_O
http://www.last.fm/user/BlueGhost60All music is not rock.
There are about 100 main genres of music, and subgenres number in the ten-thousands.
Uh... what else is there, exactly? I mean the stuff I don't like covers most of what's on the radio. I'm picky.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.I'm fairly certain that aside from The Flobots, no bands discussed here have ever had radio play.
The Big Five are Rock, Hip-Hop, Country, Electronica, Dance, and Jazz, but there are many others.
Like rhumba! 'Dances stupidly'
Just to get the big ones...Electronic (Ambient, House, Techno, Acid, fusions between all of these), Hip-hop(East coast, West coast, Midwest,Dirty South, Instrumental, Alternative, etc), Classical, Country, Jazz, fusions between any and all of these, etcetcetc,
http://www.last.fm/user/BlueGhost60Try Blues like Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Or maybe Jazz like John Coltrane.
Or maybe Indie (my personal favorite although a subgenre of rock) like Modest Mouse
Or maybe New Age like the Penguin Cafe Orchestra.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
I like classical, some jazz, some hip-hop, a little electronic (electronica, chiptunes).
Neh. Go back to talking about bands, I'll quit bothering you.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.But which bands?
http://www.last.fm/user/BlueGhost60Stevie Ray is really cool. So is Modest Mouse. Zudak doesn't agree about Modest Mouse.
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."
I really like them so far. I just finished Pull Me Under and am on These Walls. I gotta get to my iTunes store soon.
