The fact Lucifer is typically the first angel made, so it becomes assumed as Michael the one who cast him down must be the closest to him.

Also Devilman where they are literal twin brothers. Well for hermaphrodites that call themselves as such(Lucifer is more powerful and nude, Michael is more muscular and wears clothes)

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

I'm pretty sure Michael being the one who defeated Lucifer is from Paradise Lost

[up][up][up] Clearly they were all inspired by Angel Sanctuary. That describes Michael and Lucifer perfectly in that manga, although Lucifer is more powerful and probably threw the fight with his brother.

AS also has the best Michael design ever. (he's the redhead, the other one is Raphael)

According to wikipedia it was originally from Revelations.

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels [going forth] to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels;

8 And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

Playing De Su 1 on 3DS. On day two, reminded how much saving civilians sucks. I played this game back on DS, got 3 endings, so I remember the story fairly well. I'm not going for any particular ending; if I'll manage to meet the requirements for them, I'll go with Gin's or Atsuro's, if not, then Yuzu's. Are there any route specific demons/bosses? I plan to 100% it and I don't want to repeat endings in case I missed something specific for this route...

@Nikkolas, about Digital Devil Saga: when I played it, I had similar feelings. I didn't like how blank the cast was, how empty the world felt and how little answers there were. But then I played DDS 2, where you actually get all the explanations, and now this duology and P2 duology are my favourite SMT stories. I find it funny how, apparently, a lot of people that liked 1 didn't like 2, when for me 2 retroactively made 1 actually interesting.

[up] In Devil Survivor Overclocked you get titles for clearing certain routes a la Devil Survivor 2 and points that you can spend on New Game Plus bonuses like removing the Anti-Grinding, Mitama Fusion, and other stuff.

Do you mean when you have to kidnap Amane being controlled by Remiel? I would imagine so but I have no idea.

Also what do people here think about the Triangulum Arc? I was pretty blunt about my dislike for it but I'd like to hear other views.

I dunno, it just didn't seem to have the urgent conflict of the original. Everyone gets along, Yamato and Ronaldo have been sapped of their fiery passion which was their defining characteristic, I didn't like Myako nearly as much as I liked Alcor... It all just felt like the same but not as good.

The side content and story I think are the main draws of the Triangulum Arc. One example of the side content is the Frost Five battle which I think is best done on a New Game Plus. You're trying to escort some Jack Frosts to unique data and protect them from hostile demons. If you clear the mission successfully, you can fuse Frost Five in the Cathedral of Shadows app.

Don't care for it story-wise, but it did up making me like a few characters more than I did previously.

My memories of the original Strange Journey are spotty - far moreso than I realized before I played SJR - but the level of Qo L improvements are staggering. Like, in the original game, you needed a Sub App to see enemy elemental affinities. That is just something that should be automatic and universal. Having to always remember who is weak to what or repels what gets frustrating, especially since it is not even consistent from game to game. (Although a fond memory of mine is when I killed myself with a Tornado in Nocturne because an enemy at the Obelisk repelled Force attacks.) And of course that is just the tip of the iceberg in all the new gameplay additions.

Combined with the voice-acting, Strange Journey Redux is just the definitive version of the game I can't imagine the original Strange Journey being played by anyone now. I guess if you really hate Alex? But even then just don't side with her.

Speaking of which, I just beat Asura and got to Sector E This is Ouroboros, right? I will be interested to see how much I've improved as an SMT player. She was a nightmare originally. Anyway, back to Alex and story stuff. SJ has more personality and plot than I gave it credit for in my memory. It certainly has more plot and gives its characters more focus than Nocturne did. I'm also kinda curious about when I will actually learn about Alex in the game itself. I know all the details from forums like this but not much has happened with her in the game apart from beating me up.

The new art and voice-acting has really helped turn me around on Jimenez, too. Couldn't stand him originally.

[up] For some odd reason, the new art just doesn't really stand out to me. Doi and the other new guys can't draw cheekbones.

So I specifically ignored the third sphere of the Womb of Grief so as not to be overleveled.

...i was still 4 levels higher than Ouroboros. Shit sucks. I wrecked her in one attempt.I was fortunate to have a demon with Agidyne, Fire Boost and Preparedness. And I don't think I had Luster Candy when I first fought her. This time I made sure I had LC, War Cry and Acid Breath all ready to go.Still, my being overleveled robs the victory of any joy.

I would just keep Enemy Banish on and not fight anything but I need to keep up with Forma for equipment....

EDIT:

The second fight was closer, I was only two levels ahead. She came damn near close to killing me one time. I was in the red but I have a huge stack of Beads so I just threw those around. Honestly, Space Marine can't do much compared to the demons so I just forwent a healer entirely for this and had my demons all doing damage while I healed.

[up]Don't worry. There are some amazing end-game guns that will help your Space Marine deal some significant damage. Two especially amazing guns are locked by alignment (one for Chaos and one for Law). By the way, have you got Frost Cannon from Jack Frost sidequest?

Yes I have it. I've been swapping in new guns I make though because I figure the FC will have to be obsolete soon.

That's good to know, though

[up] If you go Neutral for a first playthrough the best gun you can get has to be made by hand in the lab. On New Game Plus, you can get a really powerful gun by beating a Bonus Boss but to even get to said Bonus Boss you have to go for the new endings.

Well if I play the game again it won't be for some time so NG+ content will have to wait anyway. Plus I dunno which ending I want.

Also did anybody else notice how everything in this game is fixed so when you save and load everything will repeat exactly? I noticed it while farming for Forma. You get the exact sme battles, your attacks do the exact same things, the enemies do the exact same moves and hit the exact same people... Just now during one of the skirmishes with Alex on the Third Sphere she killed Lachesis with a physical attack so I reloaded and swapped a Phys resistant Balor for Lachesis right before she was supposed to be hit. And sure enough, Alex used the same move on the same "slot" or demon but now he could survive it no problem.

It's...kinda broken as fuck. I only did it this once and I don't intend to abuse it, these little fights mean nothing.

I gotta say, Repel is pretty broken in this game. It's fundamentally different from Devil Survivor. In SJ, even if an enemy drains or nulls an element, if it is repelled at them, they take damage. I used this to beat the second Warden in the Womb of Grief despite the fact she was about 14 levels higher than me. She used insanely powerful Gun attacks so when I first tired at Level 50 I was like "okay, reflect them." Nobody was fast enough to get Tetrakarn up though so I left. I got Mad Gasser at Level 53 and noticed he was really fast so I tried again with him. She killed herself basically in two attacks...in spite of the fact she Drained Gun. .Or Nulled Gun, I forget which.

In Devil Survivor though, it was a bit more sensible. A reflected Fire spell or whatever at a boss that drains fire just means you were healing them and you didn't want that.

What's with these "change the background" skills I just saw from Forneus and Alex at teh end of the Fourth Sphere? I was overleveled and killed them both too fast to see what they did, if anything.

I think Forneus's background change skill tries to inflict Fear on your team either at the start of your turn or at the end of his turn, but I could be wrong about that. The next Womb of Grief boss's background change skill will stop you from buffing and debuffing for a few turns though, so be ready for that.

I'm sorry for asking, but what Womb of Grief bosses did you guys liked the most, to the point of wanting them permamently in your teams? Mine are Anahita, Zeus and Cybele. Actually used Zeus to defeat the final boss for Chaos+ route.

Also, watch out for the 5th boss of Womb of Grief. Despite having custom-made demons from passwords, he almost beat me.

Zeus was the one who stuck around the longest thanks to having those two moves with baked-in de/buffs.
