The Massive Multi-Fandom RPG: Season 2

There was a bit of shock as Pyrrhus was lifted from the cabin and deposited onto the garbage bag. For some reason he didn't smell the rubbish - maybe because he'd smelt worse. Or maybe that huge building block flying at him only to be chopped to bits by his ally that temporarily dulled most of his senses.

But more importantly, now he was in a position where he could take clearer shots. If only he could find something useful in the pile of rubbish to fight back the behemoth more effectively...

And then he found one - a can of what appeared to be stale cooking oil buried halfway in a sea of junk underneath him. Without a second thought, he grabbed the bottle, opened the Gastraphetes' arrow stock, and poured the entire content inside. Now both his hands and the weapon itself were soaked in oil.

He had a plan with that too. He quickly attached the sanded gauze the drunken Syracusian engineer had designed to the mouth of the bow, and took aim at the monster...

Harima saw the building heading his way as he was in midjump. "The worst things in life is not getting what you want and getting what you want. This is the latter." He angled his body so that he was flying through the air sideways, so that when the building was near enough, he stabbed his sword into the crack of the building to launch himself forward, performing a wall run until the building wasn't underneath his feet anymore. Doing that maneuver though, caused his legs to spasm, so he temporarily lost control and smashed into the shield. Reacting quickly, Harima stabbed the sword into the membrane and held on it, using his weight to drag the sword down and cause a falling dagger through cloth effect. (Night for now)

Spriggan fired the Istiglal at any debris heading straight for any friendlies.

Damn it!

He took aim at some of the debris heading for Maria and Two-Bit first, being the first priority before he took aim at others going for anyone else.

Shirou sighed with relief as he saw Dimitri's shield was weakening noticeably. They just had to keep this pace up and they'd be alright, as long as the echidna didn't adapt to their tactics. Dodging even more lasers, Shirou reminded himself not to get too cocky. After all, the mech still had the advantage in both size and power. After leaping over a few more gaps in the broken Wing Road, he froze...

Dimitri's mech hurled the skyscraper straight toward Subaru. No... he paled. Not toward Subaru - Past Subaru. Time seemed to slow as the building soared through the air toward him. He was quite far off the ground, but he'd be able to survive a fall from this height, clearly. Without hesitation, Shirou dropped off the Wing Road...

Only for the edge to slam into his chest anyway.

Shirou became tangled inside one of the broken window frames as he fought to stay conscious, his ribs broken and his lung punctured by glass. "A...Aval-"

CRASH

The skyscraper smashed against the ground half a mile away, creating a massive crater. Anyone who'd missed it would find that they couldn't quite pick out Shirou amidst all the chaos. However, Sakura's wide, disbelieving eyes could not be missed. Wordlessly, she fell to her knees, a Prana barrier automatically intercepting any lasers headed her way. Had it not been an unconscious preotection, she would not have even had the will to speak the first syllable of the incantation.

Braig continued firing sniper rounds at Dimitri's head, only stopping to reload.

That shield has to break sometime!

He stared at the building as it was thrown, before shaking his head and continuing his assault.

Iroh attempted to fire his fireballs, only for them to be negated by rain.

He turned to Braig. "Do you have a weapon I can borrow?" he asked.

Two-Bit looked at Iroh with a small pang of doubt. This doubt was quickly erased when he heard the exhaust of the rocket behind him. "Good enough!" He said as he quickly moved towards Iroh. "No time to explain, just get me above and to the other side of Enerjak, or Dimitri, or whoever, just do it fast before we become mincemeat!" Had he not been chased by the missile, he might have noticed Shirou getting hit by the building...

"I fucking hate this."

Spriggan fired the PG-7VR warhead at Dimitri once again, leaving him with two more warheads. He began to reload the Iranian-made weapon before he got on the Istiglal.

"Mr. Wreck-Gar!!"

"Haken Form. Haken Slash."

Fate flew to Wreck-Gar's side and swung her scythe blade along with his giant sword; the part of the building hurtling towards them was sliced up, turning it into smaller chunks that the two easily whittled into so much gravel afterward.

"Shirou!!!" Selvaria shouted, still peppering the shield with gatling fire. She turned back to try and recover the trace user from the debris, only for one of the lasers to slice through a lock of her silver hair, just barely missing her head. She cursed, before returning to running around like mad just to avoid the beams.

Spriggan's anti-tank rockets struck the front of the shield where Crona had sliced, causing that portion of the shield to become nearly-opaque and further weakening it. Harima landing on it sword-first and sliding down caused even more damage, and that part of the shield now looked about ready to crack wide open...

Sayd saw one of the missiles heading for Two-Bit. She flew down and blasted the missile before it got near. "Using such heavy weaponry against a CIVILIAN!! No deserve no MERCY!!"

Sayd created a pair of green construct missiles salvos and sent a giant plague of missiles right at Dimitri....

Meanwhile, Larfleeze sliced off a large portion of the building that Dimitri tossed at the group and picked it up with the Orange Light. "The housing market can truly be MURDER!!!" He swung building portion right at Dimitri and started bludgeoning him with it....

Pyrrhus smirked at the newest development in the shield. It seemed it would take but a little push before that portion collapse - he took aim at the weakest spot on the shield.

"And... FIRE!"

And then it became clear why Pyrrhus did that seemingly insane gesture - as the oil-soaked arrows were discharged from the drenched crossbow and brushed against the sand face (which was only connected to the crossbow by two slim metal connectors), they caught fire and raced towards the monster's shield like a flock of phoenices in flight...

Spriggan had reloaded the last magazine on the Istiglal and went to fire again at Dimitri's shield, regardless if it'll do any significant damage.

He knelt down and went to aim the RPG-7 Commando again at Dimitri, launching the PG-7VR before he reloaded it and fired it since the combat specialist didn't wait for anything to happen.

"Gotta go!"

He abandoned his sniping post and went back to the abandoned command post, picking up a Type 91 MANPAD.

Two-Bit gaped as the missile suddenly exploded. Turning to look, he saw Sayd in the sky, and put 2 and 2 together. "Shit, that's the second missile she saved me from. Damn, I really wanted to give it back to Dimitri..." He sighed as he tried running back to where Bran and Maria were. "Nevermind, Iroh! I'm all good!" He called back, sorry he had disturbed the poor man as Two-Bit finished reloading his SMG's.

"Shirou!" Maria dodged the lasers and continued to have the Cardinal slam into the shield, "Everyone continue the plan!"

Subaru watched helplessly as Dimitri ripped a building off of its foundations and tossed it. While Subaru was out of the line of fire... Shirou wasn't. Subaru felt the pit of her stomach drop away as Shirou dissapeared in a terrible plume of debris.

"SHIROU!!" Subaru screamed in horror, violently changing course and streaking towards the crater. She barely kept her feet as she landed amid the wreckage, looking around franticly for any sign of the boy.

"No, no, no, no, no! Shirou! Can you hear me?" She screamed, both out loud and telepathically, barely avoiding a laser blast as she started digging through the rubble. "Please, answer me! Shirou? Shirou?"

Spriggan began to run, despite carrying the Type 91 MANPAD.

"Selvaria! Cover me!"

He yelled to his old comrade, rushing to the mecha.

"HEY DUMBASS! TRY TO PICK ON ME INSTEAD!"

"Ooooooh! My turn, my turn!"

Wreck-Gar extinguished and stowed the blade, and pulled out his crossbows - which had apparently been reloaded whole in his backpack? - and a barrel of oil, and started sloshing it on his arrows.

Engineer watched Dimitri throw the building towards a lot of his comrades. He didn't actually see Shirou get hit, but Subaru's reaction couldn't have meant anything else...

"Damnit Dimitri! Why did you have to do this?!" Engineer yelled, firing off his shotgun at the shield again, as he still had nothing better to do against it.

The rubble proved to be much more work to clear than any one person could hope to accomplish in any reasonable amount of time. After a solid minute of work, Subaru would find little among the rubble but splatters of blood and a few squishy bits that defied description. Half of them didn't even look like they could have come from a human being, and none were in fewer than 4 pulp-filled pieces.

Subaru could feel trace amounts of Prana in the air, but aside from that, she did not even get a response. As she tried to connect with his mind, all she heard were garbled bits of static.

Crona turned to see what happened to Shirou and his/her mouth fell open in shock. The next thing that happened was something new, a look of pure rage formed of Crona's face. He/She held his/her sword up and shouted "Screech Gamma!" Causing the blade to transform. Crona then went to work going ballistic on the shield with now much faster and more powerful strikes.

Jack had been fighting the Troopers with the others, until they had all been eliminated. That was when Dimitri emerged from the darkness, screaming about something. "Damn, he's really gone off his rocker..." Jack muttered, before nodding to Pyrrhus after the general had made his speech. He ran for a nearby building, jumping up to the fire escape and swapping out the sword for a pair of pistols and opening fire on Dimitri as he made his way to the building's roof.

"... No..."

Only now did Pyrrhus realize what had possibly happened, if not from the crater then from the look of both fear and disbelief and grief on the face of everyone around it.

"... Shirou, you... mud-brained fool... This isn't the time to throw your life away..."

There was only one thing left to do now - to make sure the monster go down as quickly and painfully as he could.

"Ares, give me STRENGTH!"

Another flock of phoenix ran up the shield... and another... and another...

"S-Shirou?" Maria looked at Subaru, afraid. Maria then turned toward Dimitri, pure rage in her eyes.

"You will pay with your life for what you have done!" Maria said with absolutely no remorse, as the Cardinal continued to slam into Dimitri's shield, quicker and faster than before. "For Shirou!"

"No... No no no!" Subaru cried, lifting and bodily throwing another chunk of rubble away. She stood still for a moment, looking around, her face frantic. She couldn't hear him, she couldn't see him.... she could't feel him...

It can't be... he can't be! I won't let it!

With an anguished, deafening shreik of rage and sorrow, Subaru slammed her cybernetics into overdrive. The flame-blue aura, not dissimilar to Selvaria's, exloded into life, and her eyes blazed yellow. The cyborg girl started digging with renewed desperation, screaing out her beloved's name.
