It depends. Does it really change the person chronologically (e.g.: if someone that got a Stand as an adult got Seth'd, they'd lose their powers) or just biologically?

[up]Jotaro did lose his powers.

Now that I think about it, it's kind of odd that Jotaro was apparently an ass-kicker even as a child, since he was introduced as having been a nice normal teenager up until only a couple months before Part 3.

Pretty sure he was always like that as a teenager. It seems to take a while before the mind catches up with the body, so Kid Jotaro was running on Teen Jotaro's mentality.

[up][up][up] Thanks, I didn't quite remember if Jotaro had lost his powers or not.

So maybe the same would apply for DIO, by this standard.

IIRC that same videogame used that stand as an excuse to have young Joseph as a playable fighter, with the reasoning being that it can only take off so many years (apparently up to about 50)

So de-vamping DIO might be beyond it's range.

Huh. I knew about Allessi making Joseph younger in the video game, but I had no idea they gave him such a limit.

Then again, a young Joseph, despite being much stronger, would also lose Hermit Purple and the ability to see Stands due to him gaining his around the same time as Jotaro.

So he'd still be in trouble, even if he was younger and stronger.

Having looked into it the effects of that power in the videogame are totally random.

Shadow dio becomes a head in a jar. Regular dio becomes that shitty vampire the crusaders met first.

Iggy becomes the less-cute version of himself from earlier chapters.

Keep in mind that Polnareff being turned into a kid did nothing to erase any of his memories of anything that was going on at present aside from Jotaro's name. Even then, he recognized him and knew who he was.

Jotaro, in the same situation, only really lost Star Platinum. It just turns out he was really swole even as a kid.

I've only ever seen the arc in the anime dub, but I thought that he also was rapidly forgetting why he was in this city and why Alessi wanted to attack him.

Also, speaking of the anime dub, I thought some might appreciate this little snippet of a recent episode.

I have a message from another time...

When the Stone Ocean anime eventually happens, I'm curious about whether they'll update the technology in the part to actually look like technology from 2011.

I kind of like the idea of them sticking to the manga in terms of technology. Sure it's not accurate but there's some fun in things not being completely accurate.

I like trying to think up what Stands would legitimately be able to stop Ultimate Kars. Anyone got ideas of their own?

  • Osiris and Atum: It's a long shot since you'd need Kars to agree to the bet, but I think you could theoretically take his soul since you're not affecting his immortality
  • Cream: Kars' immortality is purely physical. Cream seems to erase whatever it touches, leaving nothing. So unless it leaves some sort of remnant at the cellular level, it would probably work. Though the difficulty is trying to make sure you get him before he can make a drone to regenerate from
  • The Hand: Same principle
  • Heaven's Door: Write "I will never harm a living thing" on Kars
  • The Lock: It's a stretch, but you may be able to cripple Kars with guilt so he decides not to do bad stuff again
  • Enigma: Similar difficulty with Cream, but you trap him in paper instead
  • C-Moon: Gravity manipulation could throw Kars back into space

As I understand it, it was said that Ultimate Kars would be able to hack his way into having all Stands.

Being the ultimate lifeforms means being able to do anything another lifeforms can do. As everything from rats to babies can have a stand, that means Kars could probably give himself one as well...but he's gotta know they exist.

We should be glad he didn't back when Joseph spaced him.

Kars killed his entire race without flinching. I think he's well past feeling anything resembling guilt.

Can you really genocide your entire race in self defence?

I mean, surely at some point, one of them must have realized hey, maybe attacking this super dude is a bad idea and we should just back off.

I'm pretty sure he just kept going at some point.

As noted above, Kars is the ultimate lifeform. He already places himself above all humans and beyond any moral judgment - especially when that judgment comes from a species he sees as hypocrite and lowly. Guilt, in human terms, is as meaningful to him as sex.

I also doubt The Hand would be able to erase him completely in one swoop. He would have plenty of time to regenerate.

Finally, I think some Stands from Parts 5-6 could beat him. Especially those named after a ceremony for the dead...

Lots of Stands could beat him, assuming he doesn't counter-stand.

  • D4C has an easy kill condition that works on everyone.
  • Cream could do it with a good hit.
  • The Hand could too, theoretically, but its slow enough that Kars would probably pull some bullshit like moving his brain into his feet while the swipe cleaved through his head.
  • Hitting him with Sethan during the day would likely be fatal, or at least would turn him back to stone.
  • GER, duh.
  • Chariot Requiem would work, too. Whoever gets his body just has to figure out who he's in and kill him.
  • Soft and Wet could theoretically steal his wind resistance after baiting him to jump high, sending him into space again. Probably not, but could you imagine?
  • Blue Hawaii could just force him to jettison himself into space.
  • A direct hit from Killer Queen works on anything.
  • Hitting him with Crazy Diamond during the day might work as well as Sethan.
  • Tusk Act 4 can probably beat anybody with a direct hit. He'd be permanently fucked up with a grazing hit.
Etc.

I believe Made in Heaven could also defeat him (and may have technically defeated him along with almost everyone else)?
