Well I felt the inclination to start a whole new playthrough, after (SPOILERS FOR ENDING E) flicking the killswitch on my save data. And...yeah, I just completed the Gathering Keepsakes sidequest while also having done Emil's Memories beforehand. Without spoiling too much more...as someone who actually played through the first game and came into these two sidequests with that added context and knowledge of that game's characters... the feels, they have resurfaced. Bonus points for blatantly reusing music from a previous game in a way that I actually DON'T hate.

Alright, so one thing I thought of, even if I'm likely far from the first person to do so and even if it stems from one big coincidence which may not be too interesting to some. When 9S has reached the top of the Soul Box and goes into his own head to see an illusion of 2B alongside memories of the two of them together, if you're connected to the internet you'll see bodies of players strewn about the battlefield. Just, seeing the memories being erased one after the other combined with this fake 2B killing all these people playing as 9S...the accidental foreshadowing symbolism is real. I just had to make this realization known.

Yeah, there are some amazing things done in this game with interconnected storytelling. Even if the function is mostly used for Dark Souls bloodstain-type stuff, it's little touches like that that make things more impactful. There's also the fact that any assistant YoRHa bodies you resurrect on Path E will go berserk and attack you.

I fought the opera singer robot boss. She was even creepier than the mind-controlling Morlock lady from the X Men episode I just watched.

Oh yeah, her. She's a fun one.

I can't tell if I'm supposed to laugh or cry at the part where the commander lady was in tears because she got rejected. ^_^;;

I inadvertently powerleveled by getting my ass kicked by her but killing off the android weapons repeatedly for numerous hours.

That's Operater 6O. She's a cutie.

Which makes what happens to them in Route C all the more heartbreaking.

After all this, I want to see what Yoko Taro's take on a Space Opera would be like.

His normal sci fi story was very great, so seeing him go int much more cosmic tier levels of story telling would be interesting to watch.

I can see a lot of 2001: A Space Odyssey influence in terms of tone.

No, they are still kept to the android and machine war on earth.

That roller coaster fight was very exciting.

So there's going to be an Automata raid in XIV.

Saito and Yoko recorded a video talking about it as well.

the hardest part will be managing to see your cooldowns while crying your eyes out.

I love that guy.

I wonder which Androids will appear besides 2B, since Yoko Taro did two stage plays along with the game.

One of my quest objectives is blocked by a sandstorm. x_x

There's a specific path you can find to get through that sandstorm. It's really annoying, I know, but look up on a walkthrough or something the way you need to travel.
