Maybe he's the Excheed liaison who decided he wanted to be the only Excheed, so that he can be a god?

Nah. I just see it as he is using some item to fly, or has magic taken from the Excheed. Simpler then trying to figure out "why" he would turn on his own people.

Is there yet any info as to whether it's supposed to be "Exceed", "Exsheed", or "Excheed"?

I'm partial to "Exceed", but that's just because it's an English word.

Since Patherlilly has a cat head, I'm guessing either he gets Exceed powers from a cat mask or he's an Exceed-human hybrid.

Also, a fight in an amusement park provides a lot of opportunities for Natsu to get motion-sick.

I just thought of something. The Exceed are described as 'angels', and angels have a very small reputation as warriors and destroyers.

What if Pantherlily is one of these warrior-castes, bred and trained exclusively for combat? That would explain why he looks like a panther.

Also, is it just me or is Aquarius the most useless Stellar Spirit ever? The one times she actually co-operates instead of spanking Lucy or running off with her boyfriend and she can't even do anything. Is this supposed to be some sort of Running Gag

I like how the fact that although the Edoras mages aren't as powerful, they're still quite useful and effective.

I just started watching the anime and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Hopefully I can catch up on the manga shortly.

Ok, at this rate Fairy Tail is going to need its own Crowning Music Of Awesome page (or maybe just a Silly Music page). First there was Juvia and the 2001 Space Odyssey thing, and now there is the Olympic Theme for when Jose is defeated. What are they going to use next?

Natsu and Lucy continue to face arrow-eyebrows dude in the giant park while Faust continues to be a colossal creepy asshole.

Did anyone else think Natsu look kind of different, like his character design was slightly altered? Maybe it's his hair?

Anyway, looks to me like Coco will pull a Heel–Face Turn. Lily will probably follow.

Oh, and what's with Dragneel's silhouette appearing behind Natsu? Is he entering Dragon Force without eating any flame?

About Natsu's silhouette, he gets that most times he gets serious. Just not usually that strong of one. It was probably influenced by the fact that the opponent was not used to seeing people that strong and we saw it from his perspective.

I am just waiting till Lucy gets all of the gold keys so we can see the True Potential of Summon Spirits. Remember that spell that was just a "one time use" spell? I have to think that there are more things like that.

There is a v2 of the chapter up now. Only change I saw was here. But what a change it is. Guess I was wrong, and everyone else was right.

Also, I think there is some Author Appeal here and on the next two pages

So he is an Exceed after all. Maybe they cast him out for looking different, and that was why he went along with the plan to kill the other Exceed?

Reviving this thread.

Following a link, I saw this page and my first thought was "That outfit is perfect for What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?! Wonder when he got it?" Found out that Virgo had given him and Lucy semi-matching outfits after the raft ride.

More relevant to recent events, does this remind you of anything? I wonder if the rest of the Mage Captains' abilities can be compared to things/people we have seen before...

I wish we had seen more of Erza's fight. Oh-well. Gazille was great and we all know that that outfit is a disguise (otherwise the fight would have been shown and she would have that spear).

^Maybe the end of the fight being shown in a flashback will serve as The Reveal? Perhaps combined with some Unreliable Voiceover as "Edolas Erza" explains how she beat the intruders.
