So what do you guys think of the game's art gallery? :3
My brother has mentioned that the guns in this game seems to take inspiration from the Aliens movies. I haven't seen them, so I can't really comment on that.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.Hmm. The other thread had turned into a nigh-unreadable mess, but now we can't have arguments and I'm paranoid about expressing negativity here. Problematic.
Ehh, what the hell, I'll just talk and see what happens.
Anyone else think that the screw attack was kind of overpowered? I mean, I'm pretty sure the pre-Phantoon melee was a lot easier than it was supposed to be thanks to that, and I also don't think Phantoon's hands were meant to be killed with a single attack.

Just about everything in Metroid takes inspiration from the Aliens series.
...so who came first? [[Metroid Samus in her Zero suit]], or evil blonde Jill Valentines in her...skin tight rubbet suit?
edit: if anyone knows how to pothole Metroid...do tell.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."^^^I'm always positive when I'm not arguing :3 Unless I'm depressed...
BTW, can you use screw attack on bosses? o-o;
^^Yuuuuuuuuuuup~ Would take too long to list most obvious ones though.
^Samus.
And write it like this [[{{Metroid}} *insert word*]] See?

Zero Suit. It's been around since Zero Mission.
I'll be honest, I don't keep track of dates. I guess Capcom was inspired by blonde pony tailed woman in skin tight suits.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."{{Metroid}} produces Metroid.
I have a message from another time...^^xD Well, its kinda easy to remember that gameboy advance is older console than 360/PS 3 so its easier to guess that Zero Suit was first.
I couldn't use the Screw Attack on those goddamn power-bomb minibosses (far as I know, I'm not sure how often I tried), so far as I'm concerned, it's not overpowered. >.>
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith. So yeah, as long it doesn't work on bosses, its not overpowered xD Screw attacks kills pretty much everything in every game xD(with exception of Prime 2 where if you aim well, you can use it on bosses x3)
It doesn't work on bosses you first encounter after you get the screw attack, unless you count Phantoon's hands. But... being able to one-shot every high-end enemy you encountered before that point except for the spike!armadilos and fliying trilobites... it just feels off somehow. It's like they just made the Screw attack instantly kill everything, but then made it much less effective against certain things.
I'm just sad that Hard mode doesn't have an epilogue. I would've loved to fight Phantoon as hard as possible.

That's what he said!

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Why. Why didn't I see that c—
NO.
^^ Oh, that's just nasty...
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.@Gilphon: Yes, but Screw Attack kills not boss, non invulnerable enemies in other games for one hit too xP So its nothing new :3
^Nay, I have heard and seen worse things.

Yeah, the Screw Attack's always been overpowered. It does kinda make the big "fight all these guys" hallway leading up to Phantoon considerably easier when you realize that MOST of the creatures in the hall will die in one hit to the Screw Attack, if they didn't already die to the Speed Booster.
Which isn't a bad thing, because some of these things have been downright dickish throughout the game, and it feels kinda nice to oneshot them into oblivion.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I loved the Screw Attack's overpoweredness. ESPECIALLY against those goddamn energy-shooting Super Saiyan bug things. They took FOREVER to kill, so absolutely destroying them was very nice!
Rawr!Well, I've decided to Keep this game. I do rentals through Game Fly, so it's always a question of trying the game before the purchase.
I am a firm believer of "Vote with your dollar." As much as I dislike the story, the story was Sakamoto's design, and he's an integral part of the series. We're not voting on his performance. Low sales on Other M aren't going to move Sakamoto.
We're voting on Team Ninja. They're the new guys here; they're the ones who are going to be under scrutiny, and I believe that for THEIR part, they did an excellent job.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.It kinda saddened me. From the trailers, I was expecting more melee attacks for Samus, but most of those were just disguised Lethal Strikes.
And now for some appropriate music:
"We're not voting on his performance. Low sales on Other M aren't going to move Sakamoto."
You're assuming he has the clout and/or final say on the next game. Nintendo will be moved by low sales. And I am voting with my dollar in that regard.
EDIT: Besides, what makes you think he doesn't care about sales? Sure I think his ideas for this game were wrong, but I don't think he's that dumb.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.^ Please leave that stuff in the other thread. This one was made for a reason.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.
Since the previous Other M discussion thread has degenerated into an eternal flame war, regular conversations pertaining to the game will take place in here.
If you wish to make a controversial statement about Other M, I request you do so in this thread.
