So it looks like you can't stunlock Marluxia with Peter Pan. There goes the cheese route.

So how dependent is III likely to be on knowing and understanding the rest of the story? Can I still enjoy the game if I only care about the Disney and Final Fantasy characters, or is that going to kneecap my enjoyment?

I mean even the Disney parts are tied to the regular story for which the rest of the series is basically required.

I've known people and seen Let's Players who only play Kingdom Hearts for its gameplay, story be damned. I think it's possible to play and enjoy III without having played any of the other titles, but expect to be pretty confused if you're trying to follow the story in it without having played or seen the other games...

The disney and ff elements have been getting more and more minimized as the series has gone on anyways. The disney worlds mostly have no thematic or plot relevance to the greater narrative and are mostly bland vignettes
KH 3 seems to be an improvement on the disney side but don't expect much on the ff cameos front.

I will say that, with no spoilers, the Disney integration in KH3 is my absolute favorite of the series. No question.

Actually now that I think about it, most of the Disney worlds are pretty new for the most part.
The only returning ones are Hercules & Pirates.

that's what i expected. A lot of the stuff in the trailers seemed to be a huge improvement.
They really should have had disney people collaborating on the stories from the start, but better late than never.

A bunch of Japanese kids go travel through Disney worlds with Donald & Goofy, sounds pretty out there all things considered.

It wasn't nomura who ran into them, it was just some random square exec.
I guess they probably didn't have the resources to get disney to consider lending their movie staff's help. Now that the series is more well established and even some of the disney movie staff are fans, so it makes sense that there would be more collaboration.

No kidding. I’ll probably come back to this thread (and not the spoiler one!) when the game’s out, but during the four days after Japan gets it, I don’t know if anywhere will be safe. I’m gonna keep my Internet to a minimum. Even if you stay out of gaming discussions and anything related to the series, and don’t find trolls dropping spoilers openly, you still might have websites recommending spoiler-y videos or fanart or whatever.
I know Karxrida is talking about leaks specifically (sorry to hear that, dude), but most people seem to be considerate enough to discuss them in designated areas, and a lot of people didn’t want to see them in the first place. Not sure if that’ll keep up once the game is actually out. I’ve been spoiled for stuff before and still enjoyed whatever it was, even if I wished I hadn’t been...but having it happen before I can even play would be a whole other level of frustrating.

I know Final Mix changed the chest table, but I'm not sure to what extent outside of synth items. You definitely get enough AP Boosts to be comfortable with your slots at Level 1.
