Normal attacks being weak in BBS isn't really a problem because they lead to command styles, which are super rad.
I'll have no bad words said against Leonard Nimoy here.

I've been wanting to do a KH marathon too but in chronological order by in-game story, in the hardest difficulty setting, and in the HD remixes. I don't know why though but I feel compelled to complete these games 100%, including obtaining the PS Trophies.
But no bad words are being spoken against Leonard Nimoy.
The voice is flawless, it's just everything else surrounding the character that is subpar.
(BTW don't really care either way just making jokes)
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniMark Hamill also did good work here. Which makes sense, since he's, you know, The Joker.
It's been 3000 years…Command styles had the big problem of being really poorly balanced though. Like obviously you're never gonna get perfect balance but nearly everyone ive spoken to has said that the surges and ignite can be spammed for 99% and you have little reason to use anything else. 3D had that problem as well with Balloonra being super busted.
And honestly regular combos not being good is extremely unappealing to me given that was the bread and butter of past games.
Not a fan of having infinite i frames for Ven and Aqua's dodges and bosses not staggering either.
I wouldn't touch PSP NA Birth By Sleep unless I really wanted multiplayer for some reason.

I still play it from time to time. Despite its flaws I still like Birth by Sleep, I really enjoy the story and the game pretty much brought back the platforming that KH II lacked.
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"I'm kind of at the point where the only KH games I can stomach are KHI and KHII. They have the scope and production values of the full fledged juggernaut that is Kingdom Hearts, and they don't have wonky ass spinoff mechanics.
The platforming just compensated for the lack of combat depth.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.The platforming in KHI is great and I will personally fight anyone who says otherwise.
I liked the exploration but the platforming proper felt janky to control. It's criticized for a reason.
It's perfectly fine once you get High Jump.
The problem is that Deep Jungle is the most platform-centric world at at time where you don't have advanced maneuverability.
I'll seriously take it over KHII and on's snapped together boxes with Heartless.
KHI sucks a lot less after they fixed the camera on PS 3.

I find it interesting that when KH started, it was trying to be a mix between platforming and hack and slash combat. But when KH 2 came out, it put more emphasis on the combat, and keyblade combos. Then with the spinoffs, as a response to the complaints about button mashing in KH 2, or maybe because of hardware limitations, they played down the keyblade combat, in order to make the magic spells more useful. At least that's how I viewed it.
Kingdom Hearts 1 has not aged well in a lot of aspects.
Because you don't get the surges until lateish game and there are a ton of other moves that are effective, cool and fun to use. Just because there's an optimal strategy doesn't mean everything else is worthless.

Until the final and optional bosses that is.
That's true but they're also significantly less than 99% of the game.
Yeah you can just Magnet spam until then.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Man, getting Glide was amazing. It felt like you were cheating the platform aspect... and the best thing was that the game just gives it to you. Its SO satisfying to glide over a jump that gave you trouble before.
Optimism is a duty.Kingdom Hearts III will be playable at San Diego Comic-Con
EDIT: It says that only the Rock Titan boss fight and Toy Box will be playable, but maybe there'll be a new trailer too?

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Every boss until the final bosses pretty much dies to a single fully charged Shotlock in Birth By Sleep anyway.

If you're normally leveled.
At level 1 shotlocks are. Completely useless. I haven't found a use for them.
I finally got through A Time To Chill.
I found someone who did 100% Level 1 Aqua on Twitch. Which I am so grateful is a category.
It turns out the key to Unversed mobs is Magnega and Seeker Mine. Who knew.
Aren't Shotlocks still affected by the EXP Zero "fix"?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
