Confirmed on the site to not have any of the collab stuff.
Which doesn't make any sense, as they were all Capcom collabs, anyway.
Neato, might actually play it then.
Trans rights are human rights.Mega Man X DiVE getting an offline version: WOOOOOOOOOT!
Offline version won't include the collab stuff:
...Fracking what.
Okay finally cleared Sky Town's Virus Battler.
Cleared the Central Town 1 battler too. Funny the last version is less difficult than the Seaside, Green, and Sky Battlers.

Well that answers my question. I guess I'll give X Dive a spin later on.

not at all surprised. i played the game for a month when the global version dropped and it was miserable.
the gacha was frustrating- with sparking that required too many resources, incredibly important weapons locked to randomly pulling them, and characters having too low of rates when you need to pull them multiple times. plus weapon gachas just always suck.
and the core gameplay loop was awful too. the game placed a really heavy emphasis on making sure you do multiplayer (for a ton of important and exclusive resources), which was miserable because the online wasn't great and unless you were a whale it was going to be a lot of flailing and failing. upgrading was incredibly confusing and had a major time cost to it. constant issues with stamina.
the absolute best part of the game was the single player levels and getting to play as your favorite characters. but between the stamina issues, the upgrade issues, and the gacha issues... you didnt get to experience it very often.
i dropped the game like a rock after realizing i played it for a month and only enjoyed myself for a tiny bit of it.
this is a very very good thing, and exciting news. based on the trailer it seems like they removed the most frustrating bits, and kept the best bit of playing as your favorite mega man characters
i'm definitely giving it a try when it comes out

Oh man. He's gonna absolutely destroy Star Force 2, isn't he?
Like, considering how smart assed he can be about the game he likes, Star Force 2 is gonna get buried even harder than its Battle Network Counterpart.
One Strip! One Strip! What’s the deal with starforce 2?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersGameplay's... fine, it's basically SF1 But More, but the writing is bad. Really bad. Really really really bad.

Trans rights are human rights.Did the writers change between games? Or was it a crunch thing?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI played it as a kid, and I don't remember it being bad.
What were the problems?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Star Force 2 definitely spins its wheels a bit more than the other two games, and that's definitely felt the most in the character writing, but it's really not BAD.
And imo, the post-game scenario really makes up for a bit of it.
I couldn't tell you, but looking it up, the first game had two scenario writers credited, and then the second had five, including only one of the original two...
The post-game is interesting, I'll give you that, and, like, I think there's a lot of ideas in the story that could have been really good, but the character writing is just pants. Every returning character is flanderized to hell and Solo, the new Cool, Edgy Rival, is just... completely incoherent as a character.

Trans rights are human rights.Solo is like lame Bass.EXE.
Granted, I barely remember what is deal was.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I’m kinda happy that after so long I found people that had a problem with Solo.
Though what were the problems with him exactly?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. His deal was that he actively rejected The Power of Friendship and instead drew strength from isolation. Which in theory would make for a neat ideological conflict! In theory.
In practice, he's just a generically edgy little turd that the plot has to enforce idiocy and incompetence upon everyone else to hype up, and he does the Silver thing of talking contemptuously about how weak and pathetic and inferior the hero is even when he gets his ass beat except he never gets the actual Character Development Silver did. He just sucks.

Trans rights are human rights.Ah yes, the problem of having the edgy rival never ONCE acknowledge his defeats and keeps acting like hot shit.
....I remember liking him more in the 3rd game.
Should I be burned on the stake?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. No, you're right, he was definitely better in 3. Still not a fan, but bless their hearts, they did their level best to make something worthwhile of him. Even if his involvement was a little shoehorned.

Trans rights are human rights.KN John's Battle Network 1-4 reviews are some of the best on youtube and they got me into his channel. I was there waiting for his reviews on 5 and 6 like everyone else. This Star Force 1 review did not disappoint.
The only complaint I heard about SF2 was Sonia's behavior. Even if only in attempt to protect Geo.
Edited by MetalMichelangelo on Jun 13th 2023 at 12:13:56 PM
See, that's dumb not because she was a jerk about it but because why does she think Geo needs protecting? He took down an alien planet-destroyer but she thinks Vega's gang of goons are too much for him? Way to have faith in your friend...
Trans rights are human rights.TBH, that part of Sonia's arc actually made me like her more.
I'm kind of weird like that.
