I didn’t find X6 overly hard but very annoying with a lot of cheap bits and tedious gameplay. And there’s many frustrating bits like those horrible totem poles when placed at the edge of a pit or spikes. The acid rain or spotlight sections. Hell the nightmare system is awful and the nightmares are annoying.
It was overall a very unpleasant experience.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersGranted there is a bit of nostalgia here, Web spider nevel for example was more annoying as kid that when I repley last time, I try to remenber the impretion because those is what make games memorable.
X6 is just annoying, the most hateable level is metal shark prayer(which is stupid name really), which is a shame because he is suck a fun boss fight and is design is awsome.
Heath phoenix is....meh, is the same dount fight all over, with zero is easy and with X is hard and I think one review said is nearly unbeatable with regular X, in fact he said the game is not beta tester for regular x.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"A fanart of Iris that I really like
Where there's life, there's hope.Nothing bad but I think she should used a saber.
Also a very important question...what are you fighting for?.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"If she and Colonel were based on X they both should use guns
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNo joke, I found her a little harder than Double when I first played with all the mooks she spawns.
"No will to break."What?
Where there's life, there's hope.I haven't heard about that. And since Alia is basically a palette but not Palette swap of X in X8 she should be about his same size.
Although X and Zero do tend to be like way shorter than most antagonistic reploids. Like Colonel is huge. What do doors look like in this setting?
Found a fan height chart. Based on conjecture and comparing heights when characters appear together based on the official heights given for X and Rock guy.
Holy shit I'm taller than everyone there except Actual Giant Sigma.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThen there's the big mechanaloids in the intro stages.
"No will to break."I give mechanloids a pass because they're dumb robots. For construction or. God. I don't know what most of them are for. Who the hell needs a giant dragon war crime engine?
Or rather, yes, I wish I had one personally but what did society need it for?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersImaging being part of a society inhabited with sentient androids and you're a dumb machine
I think X being tiny is a useful feature for combat: smaller targets are harder to hit.
x2 Gang warfare in this world must be fuckin' hardcore.

Better for mobility too. Especially considering some of the terrain he has too deal with in the games.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet Unless I grew it. In that case, throw it in the trash.I think its more that X was supposed to be able to live a Perfectly Normal Teenage Robot life (which is why Light hid seventy capsules of death weapons, just in case) so he needs to be human sized so he can go through human doors and enjoy human activities like human rollercoasters.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat seems to be the case because Light's dialog in X1 did say he wished for X to be able to choose a peaceful life. Not sure why he made X unable to remove his combat helmet if that's the case, though.
Where there's life, there's hope.Yeah thats a weird thing. Even back in the days of Classic, helmet removing technology existed.
As did the technology to make ROBOT HAIR.
I also like to think that there's umpteen other capsules for if X had gotten to follow a more peaceful path. Like one capsule just gives dating advice or something.
Go into another capsule bam X can tap dance now.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDoes that mean there's a capsule to give X Sex Education?
...wait, can Reploids have sex?
Edited by HailMuffins on Oct 16th 2019 at 5:31:47 AM
No idea, Light probably didn't think of that avenue probably because the likelihood of X having to fight made it more sensible to put weapons and armor in capsules.
Thats kind of sad.
"X, I made you able to follow any path but realistically the odds are you're going to have to constantly fight for neverlasting peace so I made you a bunch of weapons and armor. Sorry that this is my legacy but hey at least Wily probably isn't causing trouble anymore by the time you decapsule."
By the time of ZX, definitely. By the time of Zero, maybe. By the time of X, I dunno.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersHas X worn anything other than combat armor? Or any of the reploids for that matter.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundThere are reploids in the Zero series and ZX that have more civilian like clothes.
There are no examples in the X game series, I don't think. Even civilian type roles like scientists wear armor. And I'm not familiar with any spinoff material like manga that might show otherwise.
It seems non-combat mode technology was also lost in the Whateverpocalypse between serieses.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersHas there ever been a scenario where it would be appropriate for X to wear civilian, uh, "clothes"?
Rock and Roll are the only robots in the Classic games to wear civilian clothes. I guess Quake Woman too if you count the comics.
No one wears civilian clothes in the X series IIRC. The closest thing we have is Cinnamon's nurse outfit. The navigators also have swimsuits.
The Resistance in Zero series wear human uniforms. Alouette and Andrew are civilian reploids, but they wear modified versions of the uniform.
In ZX, civilian clothes are very common, but the gap between humans and reploids isn't that significant anymore.
Where there's life, there's hope. No, we never really see X having downtime.
I guess when he was refusing to play in X7 would have been the closest thing to an appropriate moment to be out of armor.
Y'know, it would be nice to have an X game that didn't start FATE OF THE WORLD MAVERICK UPRISING right off the bat and you could have X do stuff between missions. Awkwardly hang out or something. Talk to people.
I think Proto Man also wore civilian clothes in the Archie comics. Which makes sense since he was the prototype man of Rock.

I've only played 4 X6 stages, not counting the intro. Commander Yanmark, Rainy Turtloid, Shield Sheldon, and Infinity Mijinion.
Shield Sheldon's gimmick is later used for Rockman ZX Prequel.
