In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

vandro: You must've missed my post. Don't you go ignoring me like that. *shakes vandro by the shoulders*
There wasn't really one, Shichi. You want to read the article? It's not difficult reading, especially if you know Spanish.
@ vandro: What do you mean, how so? One assumes that male is default and normal. The other genders certain occupations, regardless of whether the language has grammatical gender.

survival of the tight-lippedI am not ignoring you on purpose, and I don't worry much either.
I don't know Spanish. Does that make it harder?

Requiem ~ September 2010 - October 2011 [Banned 4 Life]vandro: It's all well.
Speaking about Spanish, which you and Aoede are talking about, what's life like in Spain?
Male as default and normal. Er...no, male is default, male and female are both "normal", as far as I know, normal means that it follows the norms, and the norms say there are two grammatical genders.

@ Shichi: Shouldn't be that bad. Only like... four people in the class knew Spanish. Part 1 and part 2. (It looks longer than it is, because of the references.)
@ Nat: ...he doesn't live in Spain...
@ vandro: Don't play games with semantics, boyo, you'll get burned :P

survival of the tight-lippedAll boils down to either semantics or being offended by language construction, offense to me is just a lame excuse for picking such kind of a fight.
Uh... calling out sexism is "picking a fight"?
I'm not continuing this conversation if that's where you're coming from. It would be too tiresome.
survival of the tight-lippedSexism is complaining men win more than women in the same job, that they get more respect than women in the same job, that they get more chances to get a job than women. That kind of thing, complaining about male they and neuter they being the same is picking a fight. Don't complain, if you don't like it, propose a better alternative. In spanish it's kinda hard because some words are male plural with "o" and some others are male plural with "e", so it gets down to either "i" or "u" as alternatives.
vandro: What's the best thing in Spanish?
Tzetze: Would you explain?

Feminism 101: On "looking for stuff to get angry about" and the importance of little things.
And I'll leave it at that.
@ Tzetze: Oh! Oh! I know what dependencies are! Kind of!
survival of the tight-lippedDoes anyone else have the habit of redoing the question part in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games until they have a pokemon they like?
Stargate SG-1 Let's Watch. Because my ZHP thing failed. Thanks for the PDF link Aoede.
How silly of me, I imagined it was in Spanish.
I think that's too much to take in for now, I saved it to my misc. folder.

Requiem ~ September 2010 - October 2011 [Banned 4 Life]I'm writing a program. The program is split up into several files for the sake of organization. Since some parts of the program are defined in terms of other parts, I have to write a dependency list; that is, that this file shouldn't be compiled into a program until that file has been. It's annoying but necessary... pretty sure I've got it now.

survival of the tight-lippedAck.
This just had to be the best timing for everything, didn't it.
READ THIS COMIC. | Read along as I play through my games collection!vandro: Ciao! See you later!
I agree with this point, but alot of the article seems to parallel cultural marxism.
IJBM: Feminist, or indeed any newspeak
Apologies if I've completely misread it.
