Yes, an obscure shitty console! It's been a while. And man, this one's gonna be hard to top in terms of crappiness. When even a game's intruction manual tells you the console doesn't work properly, you know you've thrown 400 bucks out the window.
The paint can trick reminds me of all the contorsions we had to do to hold the peritel in place on old TVs…

x2 Well James did say we'd be getting a lot of Nerd episodes in the later half of the year.
I liked Super Putty a lot more than the Nerd did. I'd actually go so far as to say it's an underrated SNES gem.
I loved the Kang Fu section. "This is not normal."

Hey speedy boris! How've you been?
This is the first avgn episode I watched on my Tv instead of my computer. It was weird...
To be continued? That means another one is on the way.
So before the episode airs, who wants to spoil what happens if you play that game in a cd player?
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationA message from Satan?
On many games, the first track will play really loud screeching noises (since it's the game data and not music). What will happen when the Nerd plays the first track, though, remains to be seen.
Kang Fu is...special. Special in that weird sort of way like Super Taekwondo or Hong Kong 97 (although it lacks the latter’s fairly abhorrent racism). It goes beyond incompetence into a strange mishmash of what’s acceptable and what isn’t.
Complete with real-life corpse game over!
Kang Fu reminds me of those obscure shareware PC/Mac games from the mid to late '90s, usually made by one or two people. The only difference is, Kang Fu was commercially released.
Also, curiously, it was released two years AFTER the Amiga CD32 ceased production.
The followup.
Cliffhanger Cop-Outs seem to be a thing nowadays (I don't mean with AVGN specifically, just in general).
Man, that bald spot James has gets bigger every month I swear.
I loved the "paint can add-on" bit.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationYeah, that's what bald spots tend to do...
Optimism is a duty.I hope there's at least one more new AVGN before year's end. This one wasn't a Christmas episode, and it's tradition to end on one of those.
There was a time where just seeing video was enough for many.
Clearly we are well past that time.
I mean, for a game made on MS Paint, it seems pretty decent.
…So he actually obliterated the console for real, this time?
He also destroyed a 32x.
Or it could have been like the Nintendo World Championship review, where he destroyed duplicates (considering how much the originals cost, a wise choice).
Apparently the Amiga CD 32 commands a pretty penny on the collectors market, so he could have destroyed a non-working model. Gee, if ever an episode needed a “making of”.

Should there be one, I'd be more curious to know where he found a goddamn flamethrower.
From Yogurt, obviously.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationHey, remember when Macaulay Culkin invited himself on the show and both James and Mike expressed interest in making it happen?
We now have the fruit of that labor.
…Culkin's nose disturbs me.
Is there really a Good Son game on Jaguar, by the way?
...Was Culkin high while doing this episode?
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. So,at first I thought Culkin looked like Sean Astin in the thumbnail. Then I watch the episode and hear him quote Goonies...
I had forgotten that James did review the first Home Alone game, but... why isn't that part of the official episode guide?
I wonder how much Culkin said was scripted or off the cuff.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationMaybe? I think he seems sad but I think it was mostly his acting, (he is good at what he does). Glad he was willing to do guest in this ep though.
Because it's a X-Mas special.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.
Another one?!
