No, but they do have souls/spirits/ghosts/pretty-colored silhouette thingies.

It's sadness. They release pure sadness when they're hurt. And all of the sadness drains out when they die.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonOkay then, so all the enemies in Pikmin are out for pure Pikmin-sadness, which they feed in order to become stronger.
Going by the Piklopedia entry for Sheargrubs, Pikmin bleed vegetable extract.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. So, after a bit of math, I've found out that almost all of the treasures in the Wistful Wild alone (13,278 pokos without King_of_Bugs) could repay all of Hocotate Freight's debt. The initial one (10,100). This may or may not be also true for the other areas, as I haven't done the math for them.

but maybe somewhereIt's definitely not true for the Valley of Repose area.
So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonAnd after they die, the Pikmin who served you will haunt you in your dreams.
Usually for a first-timer, that would usually be in the hundreds. Or over a thousand.
I was pretty bad starting out.

I was at the end of Bulblax Kingdom once, after having already gotten the Gyroid treasure when my mom called me to do something.
When I come back, I found out my sister ended up accidentally drowning most of my red and yellow Pikmin and had already gone up to the surface.
So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonThat's what the reset button is for. The game saves at the end of the every sublevel. No such thing in the first game though.
but maybe somewhereThe reset button wouldn't have saved me. Since it you know, saves when you exit dungeons too.
Unless you're referring to the post above mine.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonI never lost a ton of Pikmin, but did lose my fair share of Olimars. I spent more time putting flowers on their heads and playing with bomb rocks than getting treasure...I was younger and dumber...
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackI was able to get the best ending on my first play. I think I had help from a guide though.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! If you want to kill Olimars for profit, there's multiplayer mode in Pikmin 2... Always liked it, but I was one of the few, hence not many would play with me. :(
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI have nobody to play multiplayer games with in general since my sister only plays her soccer games and my brother only plays on his Xbox. I did find out you can pick up bomb rocks in 2-player though. I imagine it would be fun to disregard all Pikmin and just play to see which captain can blow the other up first.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The nice thing about Pikmin is, it lends itself to variation and house rules surprisingly easily. Reminds me of the way we'd play the original Super Smash Bros back in the day: We'd have Pokeball-only fights, and you weren't allowed to actually attack each other, only throw Pokeballs.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaWe did that once, too!
I wonder why you apparently won't be able to play as Captain Olimar in Pikmin 3. Miyamoto did say that so far, it's a secret why that is, so it seems like they have some reasoning for that.
Your avatar = xD
I'm sticking with my "He retired to finally spend some time with his family" theory for the time being. Unless one of the new captains is his son!
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaPerhaps there's something about him in the main story. Maybe he's lost and the objective is to find him, or maybe he IS playable but there's some condition or situation about him being playable that they don't want to show just yet.
I'd be kinda sad if Olimar didn't appear at all, but judging by the talk of there being a secret I assume he'll at least show up.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! Thanks, Jaryl! ^_^ Wait, which one?
@Pikmin 3: What if they dropped Olimar altogether, or what if we have to save him?
Saving him would also be a possibility. Well, so far, anything seems plausible.
Oh, and I meant your Juuichi-ava, with him drinking from a Heart Container with a drinking straw. xD
I'm looking forward to seeing new pikmin. The Rock Pikmin look decent, and I heard that there will be flying pikmin too, but looking at the good ending of the first Pikmin, there could be dozens of different kinds of Pikmin yet to be revealed.
I have a feeling there's going to be a third new type that wasn't shown at all in the trailer. It will probably be either cyan/light blue or green.
You say what it will "probably" be with confidence, given the only revealed new type was left field. "Did you mean I want it to be or I would do this?" I would have made a beach level.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture Rack
Speaking of Pikmin 3, I still have to try out the first two games. The first one we already have, but so far, only my brother played (and completed) it. I'm wondering which enemies will give me problems, though. Will it be the 'WOLLYWOG!!!!' or some other beast out for Pikmin-blood (do Pikmin have blood?)?
