Imagine if we ended up with this years ago. So glad we didn't, getting a Call Of Doom would have been a real bummer.

That said, I feel not going with those conjoined zombie enemy types is a waste

Oh yeah, IGN First, IGN and Bethesda have a deal that IGN get to show/publish anything DOOM Eternal for the rest of this month.

Anyway since I suck at summarizing things, here's the description:

"DOOM Eternal is building upon its weapons and Praetor Suit upgrades system from DOOM (2016). Game director Hugo Martin walks IGN's James Duggan through the new and improved upgrade systems. Get a look at how much deeper the upgrades go and how they allow you to be more strategic against Hell's demon hordes."

Oh, and some serious spoilers in this video from the codex so heads up. I'll refrain from saying anything other than that, pay attention to those parts at your risk.

I'm just gonna try and ignore most of the codex until the game comes out.

Especially since I have my Let's Plays to focus on.

Well, it really is the intro to the game and the first level has you start off in a Hell Barge and the first level is Hell On Earth.

I do like they want to forward the story/progression immediately but it does leave me unsatisfied wanting to see what happened between Doom '16 and Doom Eternal. Sure, you can explain it away in the codex but I feel it wouldn't be as...satisfying.

If they decide to sell it as a DLC, I'll be pissed. My proposal is to make a cgi short closing the gaps. Something nice to set it up.

Again, I understand id didn't want to waste time but I feel it moved a little too forward and too fast.

Heheh, so bunch of people who got to play Doom Eternal last month got to play it again at Bethesda's HQ in Sidney and this time they get to show off how insane Nightmare difficulty can get. Well, it's showing how insane a Slayer Gate can get on Nightmare.

Here you get to see the Tyrant and the Arch-Vile in action.

Despite the misleading title, Tyrants serve as rare mini-boss encounters than true bosses.

Man, with all the jumping and shooting it reminds me of Quake and that Destroyer Blades mod for Ballista looks like metal af. The function is badassticular as well.

Took me hours later to notice but Arch-Viles, like Fire Barons, are made out of fire and lava and magma and other stuff! They don't bleed red or blue, just fire and lava. And the fucking thing can shield itself from a BFG blast by conjuring a fire barrier in front of itself.

It's actually kinda awesome that Arch-Viles are just more tanky than the Summoners in the last game, who just teleported all over the place.

Combine that with the ability to resurrect and/or empower nearby demons and their tremendous elemental power, it really makes the player think about what to shoot/slash/punch/burn first.

I'm guessing you'll need to have your chainsaw fuel reserves at maximum for that.

Because the Arch-Vile is pretty big.

Oh yes. I hope it won't need a bazillion patches to change it so it's much... different than it should be.

I wish I had that Art Book of Doom Eternal, it has designs and stuff.

Second episode of my Let's Play is live! Yes, I had an issue with the microphone, but apart from that, it should work!

I even bought myself a proper microphone to have proper audio, and since I did a test run with Wolfenstein, this should work perfectly.

Imma check it soon G2!

So Markiplier got a visit by creative director Hugo Martin and he got to play Doom Eternal, like many content creators did. However, Hugo thought he was doing great so he dropped him into one of the later levels and...

You can now see the Marauder in action. And the Marauder is badass!

Oh and... the Icon of Sin is returning.

I wasn't paying attention to the loading screens, so I'll ignore that.

What gets me is that Mark is "Oh, it's on Ultra-Violence, I'll be fine," and the Marauder completely trounces him several times!

I gotta admit, I liked that.

Shows I gotta get plenty of practice for that Ultra-Violence run.

Oh, and I should definitely invest in my mods and Sentinel crystals.

It'll make things easier. He can effortlessly deflect everything. Damn I like the Marauder a lot.

Also, they should not fix that punch bug. That's some Good Bad Bugs material there

Uhhh, is it kosher to upload images of Doom's bestiary on characters page from the leaked artbook of Doom Eternal which also contains spoilers? Upload images for the enemy demons I mean, I saw concept art for Carcasses and Whiplash in their folders for example. The artbook got leaked a month ahead of the schedule too.

Let's say with this there's more info and I'd rather we don't get too happy with info on pages. I check it myself because I don't care for spoilers but the rest of you do. As I said, the artbook has some heavy spoilers as well

I'd say wait until release, also in light of policy changes for pre-release content.

Actually nevermind the edited post (had a brainfart). Still, that's impressive about the Double Impact. I enjoy the episode thoroughly playing Freedoom so you're in for a ride there, MightyKombat.

Freedoom, again, is exactly like Doom in mechanics. It's everything else in aesthetics, art, sounds and sprites that is 100% different, all in to create a free version of Doom. Vampire Buddha can explain this way better than I can.

So I learned that Double Impact has been included in Phase 1's Episode 4 of Freedoom. Basically, if you played Freedoom's episode 4, it's exactly as Double Impact for Ultimate Doom.

Still MK, it's terrific atmosphere, as I said few pages ago. The lightning, the feel, the growing demonic corruption and more make it worth it to play through. However it has a really high enemy count as well, if you play on UV or Nightmare.
