It fucking better does, this is DOOM, the original, the classic, the Trope Codifier we talk about!
It is very sadly telling many GZ Doom homebrew ports outperform it.
Got some troubling news for anyone who bought the XBLA versions of Doom and Doom II.
Apparently, the SKUs are still active but, apparently, it might be better for me to get that BFG Edition disc anyway. Even if I'm paying twice as much as Bethesda's asking price for these new versions.

Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...You can also just get it on Steam for a tenner. The pk3 file is unencrypted, so you can download it, copy the data files to a convenient location, and run it through RBDoom3BFG or Classic RBDoom3BFG
Modern Vintage Gamer, the bloke who made the homebrew Doom port, weighs in on the Switch issue. He's not happy.
@Dhiru: DRL is great, but I mean a traditional FPS Doom with Roguelike procedural levels.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Situation is almost similar on the PS front. I've still got the PS 3 Doom Classic Complete but I'm redownloading BFG Edition as we speak just incase that goes off too.
Anyone got Classic Complete BTW?
I actually have the Steam versions of all the classic games on my laptop, but it can't even handle Ultimate Doom.
And what I would like to get is the Xbox version, which had the BFG Edition on its catalogue for a few years.
IMO, it might be worth paying more for the BFG Edition just for the "No Rest For the Wicked" episode.

Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...While I liked the classic Doom games at the time I played them, I don't think I'd enjoy them now. I just can't go back to the mazes.
Disgusted, but not surprisedNever played the original Doom games though I’m loathe to try these with what Bethesda did to them.
But for some reason only the PS 3 Classic collection has Final Doom. Is Final Doom on the new consoles?
@Ace Of Scarabs: There's STRAFE but I didn't hear much good about it. There was a game in development which I assume is dead for years now, called BLOODCRUSHER 2. It was meant to be a roguelike FPS with procedurally generated levels and seeing how long can you last until enemies overpower you eventually.
It's a shame, the last official update was almost 5 years ago and... nothing, nothing ever since. I think they lost interest but forgot to mention it's cancelled. Bummer.
Okay so today... new DOOM Eternal goodies! Well it's not started yet but when does it? I'm in Serbia and it's 17:00 now
Aw, it's a bit of a shame because once you memorize it becomes easier. I feel fan map makers tend to go overboard with the GORDIAN KNOT BULLSHIT.

Update:
Remember having to log in to BethesdaNet to play the retro DOOM games?
Apparently the login requirement was for the Slayers Club to reward members for playing classic Doom.
The login should be optional and they're working on an update to make the requirement optional.
In other words: we got them.
Just that? Well at least it's something...
Thank bleeding Christ.
I might actually get them then, seeing as I'm part of the Slayer's Club.
...I mean, I could always get the BFG Edition disc later.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Say how far you've progressed? Because I can tell you this my dude, you have some of the stiffest competition there. I checked top 10 and wow...
OH SHIT I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WENT BACK THE QUAKECON DAY 2
Welp, I'm gonna wait until maybe tomorrow to watch it.
I'm a bit busy tonight as it happens.
Oh,and I'm 1194 points.◊ I gotta t-shirt out of a giveaway!

Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...So the HUD will be customizable. Colors, opacity, disabling features, etc...
Nice to hear.
Nice dude. If you get a redundant t-shirt... is it ok if you could donate it to me? Okay I'm begging and it won't happen but I'd love a Doom t-shirt XD
On a more serious note, I think they added a color filter. It feels more... yellow-ish/desatured compared to E3 demo last month ago.
...Why?
Also you can disable shield possessed's shields and once that happens an energy explosion follows, stunning them.
And this is something I've been feeling since E3 but... I think Doom Slayer's running speed got cut in half compared to reboot. Watching this demo I see how he doesn't run as fast. I really don't like these questionable decisions.

~G 2 Battle Convoy: Sorry, my bad. I assumed that when you said BFG Edition Disc you were referring to a PC game, didn't realise it was on consoles.
M84: That's what the automap is for.
Ukrainian Red CrossOkay I'm reading impressions by those who were present at Quake Con and got to play DOOM Eternal demo.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Doom/comments/cimxnf/i_played_the_demo_earlier_today_here_are_my/
- Clinging to walls can be very fiddley to do, since "cling" is the same button as melee attack. So spamming the button can prevent you from sticking to the wall.
- At one point I walked around a pain elemental for a while to see what his attacks were like, but the only one I saw was one where he spits a lost soul, which arcs a little bit and has a small explosion on impact (it's more like a little missile than the tracking souls in '16).
- I found myself reaching low health more frequently than in doom 16, making the game feel more frantic.
- Unfortunately I couldnt get a look at any video or ui options in the demo, they just had a few controller options.
- The combat shotgun feels much more impactful than in doom 16.
- The super shotgun has a much, much slower reload speed than in 16. This made the combat shotgun feel more useful in a way.
- I could access the pause menu during cutscenes, but not skip them.
- The demo was very, very fun.
So all in all it sounds good aside from a few little niggles.
So, in regards to those floating walls around Mars orbit, I can expect to fall to my death and waste important 1-Up lives, lol.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...There's still time before game releases, hope they take impressions and criticism to heart and improve till then.
I am so glad base shotgun feels more impactful because... G2, do you feel combat shotgun and HAR feel like they can't keep up with other weapons late game, EVEN with mods?
Burst fire is cool but it's tricky to use and line up targets for 3 successful shots.
Oh yeah I hope that can be remapped and... how's the controls like for '16 Doom on Xbox One?
I used pretty much every weapon the entire time, though I did end up using the Super Shotgun more than the regular one sometimes.
HAR and CS are a little lacking in the late game, but sometimes that explosive mod for the CS and the MML mod for the HAR is good for when you wanna stagger them or blow up a group of weaker demons.
Especially with the bosses, since I just go for the biggest weapons I have.
Also, glad to hear that deaths by falling do not activate Extra Lives, really comforting to see they're strictly combat related.
I was hoping to see a surprise Invasion, but sadly, no cigar. Oh, and the colour washout could be explained by the settings or that Marty was playing off an Xbox One.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...
You'd think they would figure out last time but yeah, hopefully pressure does it again.
