I have a feeling that there was a diplomatic solution here that’s just not going to happen
Forever liveblogging the AvengersShe broke out of prison and is currently a giant - something she never displayed being able to do - in a clothing store that two civilians just ran out of in fright. In a world where superpowers are not exactly rare nor strictly controlled by the government, I think it's not out of the realm of plausibility that the authorities tacitly turn a blind eye to registered superheroes resorting to the "punch first, try diplomacy later" approach in such a situation as long as they keep the collateral damage and unnecessary injuries/fatalities to a minimum.
I mean, do you know how common it is for a giant-sized supervillain to answer "come peacefully with us or we will use force" with a giant fist to the face that wrecks tens of thousands of US dollars worth of nearby public/private property in the process?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. No statistics exist on that
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPretty sure the Hostess is effectively committing a crime simply by existing outside of the prison/treatment center/whatever you call the facility she escaped from, since she was supposed to be staying in there until the authorities decided she could leave. Given that she escaped in the first place, you can plausibly guess that she's not going to just voluntarily go back when asked nicely.
Also, Mecha Maid does seem to have some lingering anger issues from their last interaction, which doesn't help.
New page. Kinda filler-y, if you ask me.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. So is she going to take the call or not? The tension is killing me
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNew one for the day. Yeah, and her superpower is being Anvilicious.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.... The Self-Delusion Force is strong with this one.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. And in other news, water is wet.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.New one for the day. I like how Spinny's phone randomly has the Triforce on it. XD
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.I'm confused about how the fight apparently has been caught on live TV already, according to Dr. Universe.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.New one for the day. Well at least she has the decency to be forthcoming about it.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.OK, I must know how exactly could Greta possibly give a known super-criminal in prison an alien artifact by accident.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Mixed up the cakes
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBut why are they shaking hands left-handed??
= Spindriver =New one for the day. This one is funny. :)
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.... I have yet to see a decent handwave for how the Hostess could have made more of her mind-control drugs while in prison. "Enough in her bloodstream" my ass.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. How did she get into contact with Greta in the first place?
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Apparently she wanted her pretzels.
Also, warp drives don't shrink things. I mean yeah, they metaphorically shrink the distance, but the way they actually work is more like a surfer riding a wave.
Superhero stories - a genre in which Ant-Man and the Wasp started out using gadgets on a utility belt to grow and shrink, and then just sorta internalised the power. And the Living Lazer started out as a guy with a wrist-mounted laser, and turned into a living hologram. And Superman started out with X-ray vision, and it turned into heat vision.
I know, I know, this comic tries to be one bit more consistent than mainstream comics. But an author can only resist the weight of genre for so long. And we know that this is just one of a cluster of timelines obeying genre conventions from different decades.
I dunno. Maybe we'll be told in due course. Maybe it's yet more genre convention; characters just meet.
I think someone is messing about with Planck constants handwave bafflegab.

= Spindriver =... OK, I feel genuinely sorry for Dr. U, having to deal with people who abuse scientific artifacts of immense power to fulfill comparatively trivial goals. She had a working warp drive; she could've been planet-hopping between alien worlds to do her crusade against all things socially unjust (even if misguidedly so)!

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Page 16. Heh, now he's using Spinny as a guinea pig. I guess it goes without saying that being C-K-empowered will ramp up the unpredictability factor.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. He sounds pretty happy about it being unpredictable.
"If it was safe, I'd have Greta do it. Of course it's dangerous!"
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.
I like the last two panels. XD
