... Wait a minute, when exactly does Issue 13.5 take place in the timeline? Issue 13 ends with Spinny and Mecha Maid getting high-quality massage from Katt while they're still in Canada, and Issue 14 starts with them still in Canada.

Tempting fate. And Greta had to have the extra arms surgically removed? That would probably cause more problems than it solved. What the hell would her skeleton look like now? If I was told that my choices were having six arms or having major surgery, I'd keep the arms. She doesn't have a secret identity, right? So she wouldn't even need to worry about hiding them like Spinny.

Sooooo are they just not wanted by the military now? Did I miss something?

IIRC Spinny having multiple arms came with major adjustments to the rest of her physiology in order to support them. The implication is that reversing the power-swap undid those Required Secondary Powers, which means that even if Greta wanted to, she could not keep those arms without suffering major health problems.

My guess is that the only way they could be officially wanted by the military is for that same military to own up to their part in the whole C-K mine debacle, something which is probably tantamount to political suicide for General Evescroft's public plans to get a Super Registration Act passed.

Update. I really hope it turns out these guys have some low-level superpowers, or Spinny just did worse than literally her first fight.

Maybe the portal's C-K radiation temporarily messed up her C-K-based superpowers?

Or she's in an edgelordcomic verse now, in which any female is depowered into distressed damsel when presented with any opposition.

She said — they got the drop on her. Presumably she's still confused and disconcerted from being dropped through a dimensional portal. And she has never, that I recall, been shown as particularly damage resistant; she's supposed to dodge attacks, not soak them.

But anyhow, I suspect from the splash page art that she's mostly been momentarily depowered by the narrative so that her '90s counterpart can charge in and break these guys' bones in a few dozen places.

(In fact, I think that said counterpart's motorcycle can be heard arriving there.)

Looks like there really is something for everybody.

And Modern!Spinny really needs to get it into her head that she ought to follow the lead of her local counterpart while in the latter's world, the same way she'd ask said counterpart to follow her lead when in the "Modern Age" world.

I think that the point is that she's a better person than that.

Actually, I think the point will turn out to be that trying to be a "better person than that" in the wrong place and wrong time (in this case, the Darker and Edgier world of '90s superhero comics) will always bite you in the ass instead of giving you anything resembling the results you wanted.
