IIRC there was some source recently that said outright that Big Mom is the most dangerous Emperor, because in addition to her terrifying personal strength she "has people everywhere," while the others are more insular.

Which makes sense since it makes it easier for her to find people she wants to add to her tea party collection.

Again her tea party would be awesome to go to if only she didn't use force for people to go to, even when they have something personally important to do. Because seriously, this woman is the embodiment of It's All About Me.

As for Animal Kingdom Pirate ranks, Apoo is also ranked as “Informant,” thus far unique to him.

So, was Oda just lying when he said that he wanted to give Smoothie some time to shine in Wano, or did he just change his mind? Unless the big twist at the end of Act 3 is the Big Mom Pirates finally arriving (and somehow making it up to Onigashima), I don't see her having a major role in the climax of this arc.

I'm not even sure if the "five-act Kabuki play" theory is right anymore tbh. We've passed multiple places that seemed like they'd be good transition points between Acts 3 and a hypothetical 4 already.

IIRC he didn't outright say it, and I don't know if the story spelled it out, but:

"L'anime è il nemico" is a line said by Il Re (who I can describe as "the biggest OP expert in Italy") as a way to generally dismiss the animated adaptation (though he's making twitch lives in where he watches the adaptation of Oden's flashback)

Btw, since he's been reuploading the "One Piece fact-checking" series, where he describes every major theme of each volume, I might bring the videos here and write what he found out. It's really interestingly (Il Re likes a lot One Piece but, contrary to many, the fights are the thing he likes the least)

I knew he'd get it. I just KNEW IT! To be fair he did tell me he said that.

Actually, that's something I've heard from Semblance of Sanity in their readings, that the fights are their least favorite aspect of the series. They love the characters, lore, story, themes, and emotional moments much more. Another funny thing is that they consider Spandam to be one of the best villains in the entire series in terms of concept and execution, only rivaled by Doflamingo recently.

What does Il Re like about One Piece? I think that if he doesnt like the fights he wouldnt have a reason to hate the anime. Most of the complaints are that the anime does little justice to the fights.

I agree that this Il Re sounds awesome. I want to learn more about him.

The thing Il Re likes the most about one piece is the lore and the main mistery about the void century and the titular treasure. Btw, just watched the live and Il Re did like the filler scene that has more interaction between Oden, Nekomamushi and the Whitebeard pirates, at the same time he didn't like that they turned a single clash between blades into a dragon ball fight; Il Re basically accused ^note  very playfully the anime of being handled by average fans

also, I notived they've now slowed down the pacing as they covered a little less than an episode while previously they did an episode and half. Strange, I think they shuld've added more filler scenes with the introduction of the Akazaya Nine earlie

The Ace novel revealed a lot of interesting things about Big Mom:

• She was the first Emperor. As in, she was the first pirate to ever try to build and rule her own empire of people. Whitebeard followed her lead shortly after.

• The first generation of Emperors were Big Mom, Whitebeard, Shiki, and Roger. Big Mom is the only one of that generation left.

• She has the largest empire of all the Emperors, in terms of manpower and numbers.

• She is considered the most dangerous Emperor, even the other Emperors have always avoided picking a fight with her because of how massively powerful her empire is.

I always wanted to ask you... How is Precure on Italy? I know you'd probably die from diabetes from a single episode. But I know it was pretty popular there.

Big Mom's a Crusader Kings player.

I personally never watched it or heard of it in particular, maybe cuz I'm a bit too old for it, unlike similar shows like Sailor Moon, Mermaid melody, Mew Mew and Doremi; the last two I particularly enjoyed. Yeah, I actually do like sugary things, I mean, Doraemon is one of my favorite Anime (and also manga)

To make this about One Piece, did it have hype back in its prime in Italy? One Piece I mean.

One Piece, definitely, and there are still a lot of anime fans (in the sense they only watch the anime). But didn't hear much about pretty cure, though googling it I can see the show had quite a following, but I somehow missed it

It doesn't help that, when I was 12-17 years old, I wasn't an anime-manga fan (I kind of "snobbed" them). Then I began watching Death note and it all changed...

Oh god! The Italian dub of Death Note is fucking awesome.

Oh yeah, I have already said it, but in Italy we have an amazing dub (hear how they do justice to one of the most iconic scenes of Pulp Fiction https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6lw4e7FlCU&ab_channel=MassimilianoCavalloPublicSpeaking)

The one who voiced Light Yagami in Italy is one of my favorite voice actors: Flavio Aquilone. This guy dubbed like half of the world Like, he also did Draco Malfoy, Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon, Genos from One Punch man or Scott from Total Drama

Seriously, Big Mom is some woman power energy, even though she's completely evil and is oblivious to that fact.
