One Piece

One of the early Reverie chapters, chapter 907, when the Marines wire tapped a conversation between Kaido and Big Mom that suggested they'd gotten along back in the day. This chapter confirmed they were together on one crew, which I don't think was ever explicitly mentioned, but strongly hinted at and/or assumed.

The same chapter first mentioned Rox, but left it ambiguous if that was a person or a group, though English translation errs towards group. All we know is Rox is the reason Garp was considered a Naval Hero and that Rox was the precursor to Roger and that they've been growing in strength even without their captain.

I forgot Luffy was in prison. How long has it been since we've seen him?

I'm glad Chopper acknowledged that the hat is sentient. Really wonder why Napoleon isn't saying anything. Also, does Chopper not have one of those special Wano snail phones? He should probably alert the rest of the crew to Big Mom's presence.

I believe Napoleon is quite happy without having to worry about Mama going ballistic over everything.

I can see people saying that, as a being made from her soul, he would be connected to her somehow, but this doesn't cut it: Zeus is just fine and probably doesn't even know she's in Wano, after all.

It is interesting to see Perospero have great ambition. I think secretly he always wanted his own crew, but never could have it due to being under his mother's thumb.

So Queen will be this arc's "Luffy sub-boss," maybe, like Cracker and Blueno were.

Wonder if Queen will turn into a prehistoric animal like King and Jack do, and if so, what sort of prehistoric animal.

I actually liked that Sanji's use of the Germa suit came down to "sometimes you have to put away your pride to help save people's lives". But then he immediately ruined it by being a piece of shit.

Also kind of weird that Momonosuke apparently picked up something from Zoro, which is clearly going to have greater meaning, that I don't recall Zoro has ever actually said before. That was clunky.

Just in general, there's been a lot of weird offscreening in this arc so far.

Yea, that was extremely contrived.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.

Kind of weird Perospero was all like "If Mama dies I become captain!" when just last arc he was freaking out about how if she dies their organization is done.

Well, whatever.

Maybe its because last arc had reporters around to damage their reputation.

So how do you think Sabo compares to Luffy? Because while I think Luffy logically should be stronger than him at this point, I get the impression Oda still wants to do the "stronger big brother" thing he had going on with Ace.

At or just below Doffy's level is the impression I get. G4 Luffy is stronger. A lot of people think Sabo is Katakuri-tier but I feel like he's below that because I think someone at Kata's level would be able to at least seriously wound an Admiral, which Sabo... couldn't.

that could well be part of the reason Sabo got the Flame-Flame Fruit, to create at least something of a gap

I don't recall Luffy doing a whole lot better, even factoring in the fair play Calling Your Attacks

Sabo did effortlessly take out Burgess, who apparently really is supposed to be a big deal in Blackbeard's crew. That's worth something, I think.

The next time Luffy and Sabo meet, I'm sure Sabo will at worst be level with Luffy.
