^^^^ I think you mean "The Deserter." And it's actually stated by Katara in "The Avatar Returns," the second episode, that there is an order to learning the elements.

@Malkavian: This is not relevant to the new series. Take it to the old thread.

@Geth Knight: More like somewhere from 65-70.

@Saturn City: However, Roku's insistence that Jeong Jeong teach Aang firebending before he knew much waterbending or any earthbending indicates it to be a recommendation and not an absolute.

The way Jeong Jeong talked about it the cycle seems like the most natural way to learn because you're learning the element most similar to the last one you learned. I guess you could do it backward and get the same effect though.

Maybe Aang was assassinated. Unless people dont live to be 80.

It's possible, but in the interview, Mike and Bryan said that Aang's time in the iceberg affected his lifespan. He could still have died of natural causes.

Well off people pre-modern medicine tended to live into their 70's. But Aang is married to a healer So Yeah. I think an a natural death is just as likely as a murder though, even modern has issues technology when it somes to cryogenics.

Benders at least can live to be really old. Bumi was 112 last time we saw him while Kyoshi lived to be 230.

Anyways, I'm stoked. ATLA was definitely the best piece of Western Animation I've seen in years, and I hope this can just add on to the greatness.

@ Space Ghost: Yeah. How very unreasonable of her to want revenge on the man who murdered her mother. She is a nagging bitch once and exactly once, in "The Runaway", and it's even played for laughs. And, crazy as it may sound, brothers and sisters squabble and belittle each other all the damn time. Nothing she ever said against him was mean-spirited in any way, and when she did, it was at a moment of extreme emotional upheaval.

Anyway, Korra, Korra... well, shoot, there's not too much to go on at this point, and we seem to have covered all our bases. Last night, I thought about Hope (the baby girl from "The Serpent's Pass") and wondered whether she'd have a role to play. It'd be an interesting continuity nod, no doubt.

Before the article got to Aang's son, I was thinking that Korra was Aang's kid.

Interesting that they put it as "His avatar time" and not "His lifespan."

wild mass guess: Aang's not dead, the Avatar Spirit just left him and went to Korra.

That's a spurious suggestion, though, since if that were the case she wouldn't need to learn from Tenzin.

I don't know if this was mentioned in the other thread, but on another board they notice Korra is quite a bit more tone than most other waterbenders. Also that what we can see kind of looks like Balsa.

^^I think they meant the extended lifespan all Avatars/benders supposedly have. Aang was technically 162 years old when he died, if you count the time spent frozen. Kind of sucks really, to spend over half your life frozen in an ice pinata.

^She does remind me of Balsa, actually. Minus the spear of course, but still, uncanny resemblance. As for "she's darker looking", Sokka and Katara were both lighter in skin tone compared to their neighbors. You notice it in episodes like The Puppetmaster. It is because they are from the Northern water tribe, who have lighter skin than their southern cousins.

So anyone else hoping we see some more at comiccon? I'd love for the Bryke to show the pilot, but that is probably asking for too much.

Yeah, they've probably barely even started animation or casting, I'm sure they don't have anything beyond teasers.

There's no way we won't see more at Comic Con.

Heywaitaminute... if Azula were Korra's firebending teacher... well, that'd be quite a nice way for her to redeem herself, wouldn't it? wink wild mass guess

Ah, this is why I thought "Balsa"

Just have to say that is some stellar art there, almost looks genuine. And smecksy.

So she'd be In the Hood? I felt PSL for a second there, but then I remembered... she is now 84.

Edit: Just to clarify, I meant Azula.
