Don't forget the interview with Mike and Bryan in your links.

Also, if you see this thread and you're interested in what tropers have to say on the subject (of course you are), see the last few pages of the Avatar The Last Airbender thread here.

(Thats the first one dude)

So, anyone note how Korra seems to be much more of a Sperhro than Aang. She has one city to gaurd three elements down and legion sof criminals and Anti-Benders to deal with. It sounds like Jake Long crossed with superman.

I'm so excited.

Nah, superheroes fight crime. Korra seems to be have to deal with criminals along the way, not actively going out and putting an end to their schemes.

I just hope the main character isn't an expy of Katara, as I always felt she was the worst character in the series.

At least one site noted such a comparison, though, admittedly, they didn't really follow through on it.

@Chronix—do we actually know she has three elements down, or is that just speculation based on the idea that she's studying Airbending, which should be last?

^^As someone who has yet to watch the first Avatar show: Why does Air *have* to be last?

@Geth

It goes in order of seasons, Water is Winter ,Earth is Spring, Fire is Summer, and Air is Fall.

So that would by why the diffrent Nations are situated in places that look like the season. Thanks.

Joeng Joeng said that the Avatar should learn the elements in the natural order.

I guess the Air Nomads didn't follow through with that very well.

Sorry, but worst character has got to go to Suki. Poor kid never got much development beyond being Sokka's love interest who gains unnatural climbing abilities while in prison. Though I must agree that a Katara expy would not fly with me.

I actually like the idea of this new Avatar being a superhero, saving innocents in Republic City from evildoers and anti-benders.

Also: Pagoda skyscrapers. This is going to be awesome.

Wasn't the statement something like she's got three elements "under her belt", not that she's completely mastered them?

The Avatar starts with their native element and then learns the others in the order of the reincarnation cycle. Or the cycle of the seasons, if you prefer. That means they always learn the previous Avatar's native element last.

Yeah, where is the order thing stated? Because I'd figure that Avatars would learn first the element that is the one from their culture- like presumably Roku was a Firebender first just as Aang is an Airbender first.

Edit- I see- so there is an order, even if the first learned varies.

@Eddie: She's easily the least interesting as her character growth only comes to becoming more badass. She's supposed to be a mother figure but instead is a constantly angry, domineering bitch, she constantly belittles her brother who always comes up with the plans for her and Aang. She also said that Sokka didn't love his mother because he didn't want to endanger everyone with a dangerous and immoral vengeance quest and never fucking gets called out on it.

I wonder how many episodes there will be. I don't think the world or I are prepared for anoter 61 episodes of awesomeness. I think 24-episode series are quite nice...

And I really want to see Spirit Mentor! Aang.

I wonder how Aang passed away. It'll probaly come up but still. He should only be in his 80s.
