Liked the dynamic here. But how odd that last part.

doublepost to say hussie is making something new not related to homestuck to be revealed on sunday at 4:20 est
Well I'm glad Hussie has finally freed himself from the shackles of Homestuck and is able to do something new.
TBH I kinda wish he decided to just wrap up Homestuck if he's no longer interested in it that much anymore.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.He did. Then he handed off the keys to the kingdom to those who would continue it if they so wished.
Yeah. I really dislike the direction of the Epilogues and Homestuck² and most everything I hear about them. But I don't mind that they exist? I'm glad they do, since some people like them and I think the team likes making them. I'm free to just, not read them.
I still have to watch the trailer for this new thing beyond skimming the YouTube preview thumbnails, it looks more Homestucky than I was expecting. (My internet is a bit slow and cantankerous for the time being, is why.)
Mostly does better things now. Key word mostly. Writes things, but you'll never find them. Or you can ask.Frankly if Hussie did the thing we all thought was the epitome of cool in 2009 and walked away from the proverbial explosion in slow mo without looking back I wouldn't blame him. Looking forward to whatever he does next, though.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Frankly I don't dislike Homestuck² as much as I did the Epilogues... but still, when I see an update, it's no longer "MUST READ IT NOW" like Homestuck was.
Also, I too was surprised the trailer kept the Homestuck-y graphical feel. Andrew Hussie had shown a wide variety of artstyles before (and during) Homestuck, so I guess I expected something completely different...
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Are we sure this isn't jsut a Hoemstuck spinoff. Al ot of the vague trailer lines sound very Homestuckian.
It might be, or it just might be to HomeStuck what HomeStuck was to Problem Sleuth.
I'm under the impression Hussie said this is unrelated to Homestuck? That's what deadpoolrocks said, at least.

Clowns and whatnot
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBut even the stuff about becoming immortla and entering the world of dreams and whatnot feels clearly Homestuck. And then there's the focus on four youths.
Problem sleuth was all about the real world a d dream world though. Its more a hussie thing overall
Yeah, I'm thinking it's just the next evolution of Hussie stories.
Okay, I've seen the trailer now. I'm cautiously interested. There wasn't anything in particular that especially grabbed me, but there doesn't need to be. I like Hussie's art and prose in itself and that's enough to be excited for him doing something else.
Also the song is very nice. For anyone wondering, it's Harrigan by Clark Powell, which I've always liked. After I got all the Homestuck music I wound up getting a lot of music by other members of the music team, and now I'm wondering if I'll wind up recognizing more stuff from that.

I have started reading Homestuck. Well, scratch that—this is actually my fifth attempt or so to read it. My last was years ago and got to the Scratch, but I burned out and the site was terrible at saving my place. Thankfully, the Unofficial Homestuck Collection fixes all of that, and I have just gotten to the Scratch yet again. I have only vague memories, so most of this is effectively new to me.
I would do a big-ass dossier on my thought as of now, but I'm too lazy and I have to go get groceries in a few hours anyway. For now, a few things:
-Dave and Rose are probably two of my favorite characters in any piece of fiction ever
-I really really do not understand why the trolls are so popular. Some of them are fine, but most of them are culturally chauvinist asshats and whose antics derailed the kids' adventure right when it became the most tense and interesting. I find the "struggling to win a doomed game" concept a lot more enticing than "watch these Other Assholes be shitty to each other and fall into teenybopper angst wankery", and knowing I'm going to be introduced to like 30 more Other Assholes from the past or some shit—I already know that the plot is going to derail again into watching more humans (yay!) and like 30 more trolls (christ) do shit, so don't worry about me being spoiled...christ. Hope I can endure this. Some, like Nepeta, Tavros, Aradia, Feferi, and a few others are cool, but then we have Vriska being an absolutely irredeemable shitty classist ableist psychopath and Eridan being genocidal fascist royalty (wow, three bad things in one!) and like, oof.
-[S] Descend is amazing.
-The amount of ableist slurs in Homestuck is nothing short of staggering.
Despite my bitching I actually do like the comic for the record. Dave and Rose alone are amazing and John and Jade do good duty as being the most straight-forwardly heroic types. Boy I wish the whole comic were about these four!
I can say that there need be no more than 14 trolls relevant to the main story if you skip the Openbound flash game. Though TBH I think trolls as a whole are a concept better explored in Hiveswap and the Friendsims where you start with a very likeable troll and the context in which trolls live in and branch out from there.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.If you think Vriska is irredeemable, you're probably not going to like where the plot goes by the end.
if you think vriska is irredeemable, well,
it really does just go to show that the vriskourse never stops

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeRandom thought: Why does John allow the Crockercorp flying battleships to continue to exist? He is the Heir of Breath. Do the Windy Thing and scour the skies clean.
I just finished and my steam says 7.2 hours. I did leave it open while dining today, but, conservatively, I would say it took 6 hours for me. Another person I know finished in 5.6.
It is definitively longer than Act 1, with more environments and such. None is as detailed as the Half Harley Manor, though and feels maybe less polished (a lot less unique item interactions, which is a shame).
All in all I liked quite a bit. It is really rough at the start, apparently due to a lot of early cut content, but it eventually pick the pace and becomes really fun. It is probably better if you have played Friendsim, so you already care for all of these new assholes, but I don't think it is at all necessary.
