Watch yourself, Rotpar. I actually got in trouble in the official forums for calling the community an septic tank/cesspool in one of my old threads.

Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakNever talking to them on their own forums. And I've made the mistake of following them for a bit trying to understand things better.
Honestly, the more I think about it, this is one unsatisfying game to play.
The focus of the game is doing something to personally score. Your team doesn't matter for shit and yes, I've personally learned that HUGE L 33 TPEEN the Unicorn can just single-handedly win games like he screams he can. So you need to do something to contribute or victory means jack shit.
And yet the game punishes you for anything but cowardice. You're completely blind, any mistake is fatal, and the game is purely RNG with no correct answers. Did you drive to the right lane? No? Then your team either gets crushed or steamrolls the enemy and you gain absolutely nothing from it. Enemy forces disappeared behind your lines, do you defend the base? No, because nobody else will do so and invisible tanks capping your base will kill you...or you wasted your time driving back because they returned to defend their base and now you don't get kills and assist points fighting them.
I like tanks. I realize more and more that I don't enjoy playing this game. I'm in this to collect things I like and there's this intensely unpleasant and ever-frustrating chore mixed into it.
I can confirm that this game rewards cowardice.
If you want to play another tank game, there's always War Thunder (which I can't speak for) and Armored warfare; which has less RNG, counter-battery system on the SP Gs, and several other features, including an improvable bonus to your income and crew experience.
Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakRotpar, are you aware you are a part of that toxic community? Instead of finding out how to enjoy the game(there are no one-size-fits-all solution), you just complain about how the game and the community oppresses you and makes you feel bad.
If a player single-handedly won a game, that means he got lucky and ended up in a battle with 29 Uber-tomatoes. No player can consistently win all by himself, otherwise 55% wouldn't be the "damn, you're good" score.
Aand the biggest paragraph just shows you don't understand how the game works. If you don't know where to go, then yes, it's up to luck to decide if you went the right way. And what about cowardice complaints? 95% of them is just people playing how their tanks are supposed to be played while being constantly bugged with "what are you standing there go spot for me".
And where is the cowardice in being on the frontline tanking shots from 4 opponents?
No, I'm not. I don't waste time in-game screaming at people over bullshit. I don't say a world to people in online games because it isn't worth it, and I know that I'm terrible at the game instead of screaming I'm the best like everyone else.
So, no, I'm not part of the toxic community. I've tried to enjoy the game and find that I can't. Because the scoreboard only rewards aggression and luck, and aggression just gets me killed by invisible enemies while my crew lobs shells into the dirt.
Christ, what I'd give if the game just let me see shit that I'm staring at in sniper mode. All of my attention is focused on the building at the end of the alley, why can't I see the guy shooting me in front of said building?
War Thunder was a bit more up my alley, but I couldn't get into it. Even if the grinding takes the same time as WOT, I just didn't like how WT gives you multiple models of the same tank—WOT makes you feel like you're progressing more.

That and WT's grind is huge as fuck for even the first-second tier.
Also, this toxic community playerbase thing is what I ignore in WoT. Plus, there are worse playerbases out there. *Cough*Overwatch*Cough* *Cough*Team Fortress 2*Cough*.

This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind.. ∩(·ω·)∩ WAIT, is this supposed to be the mistress herself?Yeah, I never liked how most of War Thunder's tanks are just different versions of the same thing. I mean, do we really need twelve variants of the T-34?
I love the tech tree and module research system World of Tanks has in that regard. The fact that you have to play a tank if you want to get the next one in line... not so much.
Wait, twelve? 76/57 gun, 45/60 front armor, and 3 variants of the turret? Or does this include the 34-85?
From what I've heard, it's even worse with the German PZ IV and it's "variants" in War Thunder's tech tree.
Been away from the game for a bit, but finally getting back into the groove... But the new physics engine can be frustrating sometimes, ESPECIALLY if you're using a fast tank like the Cromwell. It's just so SO easy to flip over after getting launched over a small bump you hit while at max acceleration. o_o
x3: T-34 1940 L-11, T-34 1941, T-34 1942, T-34-57, T-34-57 1943, T-34-85, T-34-85 (D-5T), T-34E, T-34E STZ, T-34-85E, T-34-100 and T-34 1941 (1st Gv. T. Br.)... which is basically a reskin of the T-34 1941. Also, five of those are premium tanks.
x2: Yeah, the Pz III has E, F, J, J1, L, M and N variants; and the Pz IV comes in C, E, F1, F2, G, H and J flavors.
Basically, what War Thunder has in realistic gameplay it lacks in vehicle variety.

Wargaming's finally decided to listen to the fans: the British TOG has now been re-classified and redesigned as a NAVAL WARSHIP!

Yeah, about my video. It's cowardice because I wasn't in someone's face like an E 75 should be.
Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakI forgot to mention that the above mentioned April Fools event is only for the consoles, NOT the PC. Instead, us PC players get something that's honestly way cooler - "Moon Mayhem"! You're given control of a bizarre little sucker called the IS 8-Ball and have to either shoot your enemies to death, or bounce them into the lava pits at the corners of the map. Oh, and did I mention that it's all taking place on the Moon? That means the gravity there is really bouncy and makes it easy to push the other players around like floaty pinballs.
And since I've started playing WOT again... loving the little changes here and there, especially the improved sound effects. Wargaming also seems to be finally accepting that officially implementing the modding community's ideas is for the best; that new max visual range indicator makes life easier for everybody. Yet... I'm beginning to remember why I drifted away towards Armored Warfare.
Had a decent match in my Tier 9 M103 Heavy. I didn't do great, but got several hits on the enemy, one kill, a couple of spots, but unfortunately lost the battle. I got 211 exp, and roughly 14,000 credits for that. But the repair and resupply costs? Over 30,000 credits. I know that losses sharply cut into the profits of a battle, but jeez, at least all the tiers below made it that a decent performance on the player's part would guarantee either breaking even or suffering minimal profit losses, even in defeat. Armored Warfare tries to reward the player more for effort, with good performances turning in decent exp and profits, even in defeat (though still nowhere near as high as the wins).
Even worse, the ping times have become utterly unacceptable. I'm seeing ping and lag spikes average, at minimum of 250ms and spiking has high as 500ms. Not completely sure if it's due to my service provider, but if it's on Wargaming's end then this may be the final straw for the game. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's just a temporary issue for the last one.
The good news: it was just the service provider. Thank God, the game's a heckuva lot more playable.
Does anyone have some sort of Voice bug that makes the crew voices sound like robotic demons? Cause I have mine and its bugging me.
This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind.. ∩(·ω·)∩ WAIT, is this supposed to be the mistress herself? If it's in the April Fools IS-8 Ball map that's intentional. But otherwise no, that shouldn't be happening (and that's the first I've ever heard of it then).
There IS a bug that the April Fool's sounds play in a normal game.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.@Ricko, the money thing is completely intentional. The fact that they can be used to help fund the higher-tier vehicles is what makes premium tanks/account time profitable and desireable. To a lesser extent, lower-tier vehicles can be used to fund your high-tier behemoths, so I'd keep a decent mid-tier seal-clubber like an O-I Experimental or a KV-1 or something similar around if I were you.
I've actually been thinking about going and shelling out for a little goldenrod myself. I've only got one premium tank at the moment (earned from an event, no less) and while it does make money, I could always do with more.
Should've checked the list.Oh yeah, I'm totally aware of that. Another reason for them making the economy so is to encourage end-game players to occasionally come back down and play with the cheaper, low-tier stuff, in order to give the matchmaker a healthy amount of players to work with.
It's a system that has worked out for the most part, but it gets irritating when you begin to realize that a) you're probably gonna lose half the battles you fight in, no matter how good you do thanks to the poor quality of random pubbies, and b) even the victories at Tiers 9 and 10 tend not to cover the operational costs unless you had a great match. Add in their lengthy grinds, along with how gold rounds are rather necessary to deal with certain tanks, and you've got an endgame economy that will slowly bankrupt the player no matter how well they perform.
Free showing of Captain America: Civil War yesterday. That's the Wargaming Anniversary Gathering Event here in the Philippines. All attendees get a code for 500 gold and 3 days premium too. Lucky ticket holders get 2.5k gold, 5k gold, or Razer items.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Meh. Where was the event in? Manila, Makati?
This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind.. ∩(·ω·)∩ WAIT, is this supposed to be the mistress herself?Eastwood, QC.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.I own a T 110 E 5 now. So this is what life at the top is like.
(I still get rekt a lot, though.)
Should've checked the list.
Nope. Doesn't look like they ever plan to, either.
