Distinction without a difference, as far as I'm concerned.
Why not? It would have made sense. And it would have been satisfying.

No there's clearly a difference between not hating someone and being buddies with them.
If Paul didn't throw a tantrum after humiliating loses to Cynthia and Brandon, where he couldn't k.o a single pokemon.
Why would he throw one after a close fight to Ash?
The guy is stone faced to a T and even Ash's more boisterous rival Gary never threw a tantrum after a loss.

Gotta say JG, you're being unnecessarily vindictive to a fictional character
Like, relax. It's not that serious.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Paul is boring.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.x3 Because Ash was Paul's designated punching bag, and the trainer that was thematically opposed to him and tried to prove that his methods - upon which he had built his entire carreer as a trainer - were wrong.
If I was a bully and my favourite victim was able to punch back, I know I'd be furious.
x2 To me, it's not "unnecessary". I like being vindicative against Paul. He's one of the anime characters I hate the most.

Welp, do you then. Don't really think Paul is worth getting this worked up over considering he hasn't been around for over ten years
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Paul being so lackluster especially the conclusion to his story is what finally made me stop watching the anime for years. Took till sun and moon for me to be interested again.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Yeah seriously man DP anime ended back in 2011.
Paul may only return in Journeys for a cameo at best.
Let the hate boner for this fictional rival go.

I don't want to "let go". I'll keep my "hate boner" for as long as I like.

It's weird to say Paul changed too quickly when DP ran for like 200 episodes. After the 6 on 6, Paul dissapears for forty episodes, and the next time he appears he saves ash's life, and that's before the Sinnoh League.
Exactly. That happened too quickly.
Or better say, offscreen. Which in my book, is the same as not happening at all.
Neither of which went against the Regis, so that doesn’t really diminish my point.
Sceptile and Torkoal lost against Regirock and Registeel respectively, and while the first can probably be excused due to Ash being possessed the second was cannot.
Not sure what you’re getting at here.

I probably shouldn't be too surprised how polaring the resident Vegeta clone is.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. What was wrong with the conclusion of Paul's story? He was the one rival wrapped up 100% satisfactory.
No boner should last for too long.
This is Uchiha Rob saying this. If you knew of my frothing rage during the tail end of Naruto, you'd get it.
One Strip! One Strip! On another subject, unless the official translation differs from the original text Pokémon Adventure states the Pokéball is responsible for shrinking Pokémon. It also mentions the mechanism for getting them into the ball is an “invisible net”, though I not sure how well that lines up with Mewtwo being mafuba’d into the Master Ball.
Eh. They must not have been aware of the pokemon can shrink themselves lore.
Which is fair. Although it's pretty old lore, I myself wasn't aware of it until Pokémon Legends: Arceus re-introduced it.
One Strip! One Strip! The discussion in that thread about it is why I’m mentioning it. I remembered the manga being used to back it, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
I sympathize with you and you shouldnt let go of that if you dont want to... but post more constant negativity and bashing and you might get thumped and banned.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Criticizing an aspect of a work is fine but incessant complaining isn't as it bogs down the thread. Please refrain from dwelling on topics that make you upset about a work for too long.
Macron's notesYou know, getting back to the whole thing about how Pokemon actually shrink themselves (hence the Pocket Monsters name:
What about those pokemon wearing articles of clothing, like hats, little bows, or entire freaking Luchador outfits?
That's right, I'm looking at you Cosplay Pikachu!
Like, does that mean that they can make things they are in contact with them shrink as well?
Not that we'll get much of a answer from the anime, since I don't think it uses the Pokemon shrink lore. It's been portraying things as the poke balls breaking them down into energy for years.
One Strip! One Strip!Things manufactured for Pokémon are designed to shrink with them?
I've had a bit of a suspicion regarding Team Mew ever since I heard about them. And while conducting a Battle Royale to determine membership isn't necessarily evidence, the fact that the Foot Clan used similar methods to create their rank & file should ring an alarm bell or two. Of course, I could be biased since this was also one of the most controversial aspects of the Manalo Conference.
Ash and Paul didn't become friends they just stopped being antagonistic towards each other.
You clearly wanted Paul to throw a temper tantrum after losing to Ash at the Sinnoh league.
