[up] Though that was underwhelmed by how... unimpressive the Fallen was. Like, I feel like Prime!Megatron would've chewed him and spat him out without a thought.

I do agree about wanting to see more Strong Arm. With her, Wind Blade, and old stand by Arcee...well, that's still only three female Autobots,

Well there is Airazor from Beast Wars. And the Autobot Amazon Brigade from the G1 cartoon.

Airazor and Tigatron showing in TAAO (on top of Knock Out and Breakdown actually being together) made that comic for me.

Masterpiece BW Dinobot is showing up for Pre-order for 250$. WTF? Is he made of solid gold?

He's Dinobot (AKA the best character in all of Transformers) so yes.

Megatronus Prime still threatened to destroy all of Earth and not even Optimus at full power could beat him. I'd still give him a bit of credit. He's mostly underwhelming due to the setting itself.

Our resident wolf Decepticon felt overall like a more threatening character, mostly due to being more than just power. But yeah, I get what you mean.

Also, I miss the terms Predacon and Maximal being used.

[up] Me too. Just weird seeing all those animal themed bots called Decepticons instead of Predacons.

Another reason why its sad Animated got canceled.

They were planning on doing their own version of the Beast Wars with Waspinator of all bots as the Big Bad or at least major antagonist. It would have been really cool to see him officially rebrand himself & announce to all that he's a Predacon.

Speaking of cancelled Season 4's, I wish we got the original plan for Beast Wars going into space, rather than... that other show.'

Indeed. Waspinator was also super creepy in that version. He's just awesome in his own way in Beast Wars. And despite being seen as a joke, he has an extremely good weapon and was actually a pretty damn good shot. Too bad we never saw Transmetal Waspinator, as that wasn't used in the show for whatever reason.

Really makes you wonder how they were gonna input the rest of the BW cast. I can assume Blackarachnia will experiment on those animals she met to create the classic Maximal cast with the gorilla meeting up with Optimus somehow & then learning from big red on how to be a hero but I'm not sure how they'd implement BW-Megatron or say Silverbolt.

It be fun if we there were 2 Megatrons though & going by Cyclonus' backstory they were planning on bringing in Galvatron so even then one can be Megatron & one can be Galvatron.

Makes me wonder if Prime was meant to take some of those ideas. Megatron being controlled by Unicron is practically the Galvatron of that series. Speaking of, Galvatron actually doesn't appear much in the cartoons anymore, does he? I think the only one he ever did appear in was Generation 1. Maybe Generation 2. I never saw 2, and it doesn't help that the show is so obscure, finding anything beyond the theme song is fairly hard. I knew it existed, just not as a show.

Galvatron appeared constantly in the anime, but he was sometimes a different person too(besides a different personality). One thing I did like about Beast Hunters is seeing Megatron's Heel–Face Turn. It reminds me a bit of Galvatron's episode in Season 2 of G1, where the therapist planet basically was mind raping him. He even asked Cyclonus to outright help him, showing how horrific it is. As well as making the clear point of "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" even more so. Even he deserves that kind of freedom. One thing is being imprisoned for his crimes, but he still deserves his mind to be free. Therapy and Mind Control are quite different things.

I think that's what overall what made Megatron so likable in the cartoons compared to the anime. He's sometimes fun to watch in the anime, but quite often is a lot more plain. G1 Megatron was a jerk, but he still cared about his men, and even Galvatron had standards. He had no interest in outright mind slavery, even if he still conquered. He wasn't a good guy by any means, but even he saw that as going way too damn far. Beast Wars' one was just plain interesting, and his Machines version was even more so. Although I think by the end, he lost his humanity when he got rid of his beast form(I'm aware of the irony of this sentence), hence his more insanity when turning into a huge head(which of course probably reminded many of Unicron).

I think he does.

He literally lives to fuck shit up. He wanted to destroy Cybertron the moment he knew it was back.

He does what he likes, and he likes what he does, and what he does is bring chaos.

Depends which particular work. As a character overall, he generally does, but he has little personality in some of the works, and doesn't appear in every anime or cartoon. I think he had... a small appearance in G1 outside of the movie?

[up] Unicron did have a handful of appearances after the movie. He played a major role in Ghost in the Machine where Starscream's ghost tried to repair Unicron in exchange for a new body. He had a very brief appearance in Grimlock's New Brain where he comes back online for about half a minute before being deactivated again. Then there was Call of the Primitives where his origin was explored and revealed he was created by some monkey scientist.

Yeah, there's a reason Hasbro stuck with the more cosmic origins in later incarnations of the character.

[up][up][up]Oddly enough, the CCV trope doesn't appear in Unicron's character trope pages.

It could be due to the fact that he's the same character in tons of continuities, which is odd in itself. Basically, the idea is he's able to go into multiple universes and time periods. It makes little sense to me. I don't know if it's Comics only, or Comics, Games, Anime, and Cartoons either.

He might not be in every single instance, so it's probably more logical to put it on char sheets for specific works where it fits. Like G1 he's pretty clear this trope.

[up][up] True. Not that he appears much, but a bit more than I remember. And has a cameo in Beast Wars due to the Vrox using his shape. Beast Machines feels like a reference to him when Megatron becomes a giant head, even possibly acting like him, which is to control everything.

That said, I like what he is in Prime, the Earth itself. It's very interesting in that way. Makes it funny that if Megatronus Prime succeeded in destroying Earth, he'd destroy Unicron too. On the other hand, since Unicorn cannot be permanently killed, he'll just come back, as Earth would too. Spoilered since it's a pretty big important thing.

[up] Ya know I was very afraid at how the Bayformer's might have portrayed Unicron since they used Prime's reveal that Earth is the big devil-bot.

Thank God The Last Knight bombed though so no worries there. tongue

Does Unicron qualify as a Card-Carrying Villain?

Well he is called the Chaos Bringer, so I'd say yeah.

You know, one tiny thing I like about 2015 RID is how they opted to incorporate Optimus' trailer into his robot mode, finally solving the issue of just where it goes and comes from when he transforms.

The trailer is his legs now, so shut up everyone.cool

A lot of stuff just randomly is nowhere in multiple series. It makes no sense. Hammerspace is a literal thing in Animated, so it could be chalked up to that. And to be fair, some of the Anime actually has it off to the side and offscreen, which he uses for Super Mode quite often.

I can't believe that there hasn't been a Transformers series where Optimus's trailer transforms into a separate Autobot. It seems like an obvious thing to do, but I don't recall a single continuity where that's happened. His trailer usually transforms into a jetpack or something.

Well, it's just a trailer. Not a sentient character. It was basically never meant to be anything but.

Heck, even his Super Mode in Energon doesn't have sentient vehicles, as his trailer contains 4 assault vehicles, various ones based upon elements.

That's not a bad idea, though. He's combined with many sentient characters(Jetfire, Leobreaker, Star Saber, etc).
