Well, we adopted two new kitties today - Whisper and Chardonnay. Whisper is 6 years old, Chardonnay 3 yrs. Both are pretty friendly. I mean they won't truly replace Angel, but it's nice to have kitties again.

Awesome! I wish I could have two cats. Just have the one and I think he could use the companionship.

My newest Nephew is Logan Parker (last name here). Keep in mind his parents are huge geeks. Their baby shower was star wars themed.

Me and my GF decided to move in together for a while. smile That's not how I imagined me moving out of my Mom's house would be. Am I doing it wrong?grin

[up]Happy B Day to your nephew! Why the parents didn't go for the obvious choice?

Also, congrats, Mark on the new kitties. Hope they'll bring happiness to you. I've been wanting to adopt one for a long time, but circumstances are preventing me so far.

i haven't been here in a while... hey everyone!

i've been doing fine. hanging out at home, playing guitar and learning tagalog. i had to quit my job because there were too WAY many covid cases going around. my bosses refused to close because "the customers would have complained" and also i'm fairly sure they didn't like me seeing as they passed me up for a promotion about three times, all for children barely out of high school people with much less experience than me. now i'm on the last couple months of unemployment.

i'm also looking into cryptocurrency to see if i can at least make up what i spend on bills. making money the way rich people do feels a little bit like cheating, but i'm going to take the plunge once my account gets activated.

Hey, Lera! Hope that works out for you.

In other news, Drunk Scriblerian has joined my Cyberpunk RED group and his character is pretty legit. He did completely blow everyone out of the water with his character's backstory being detailed AF and well written, need to step my game up.

It's funny, his character and mine are complete opposites yet get along so well.

Lera: I am sorry you're having such a rough time. I am hoping you can find something to help you earn cash.

Check the bitcoin thread and ask questions first. It's not a very stable or reliable way to earn cash, it's basically a form of gambling as the value of the currency can wildly vary and acquisition is a digital mirror of the volatility of the gold market. To make matters worse any crypto mining that might earn you meaningful cash payouts involves buying up computer hardware to do the number-crunching and tends to have a rather high power bill.

oh yeah, i know it's basically gambling. i'm just going to buy x amount of currency and wait to see what happens in a month or two. no mining for me. a friend got me interested since he made a thousand bucks off a $35 investment, so it can't hurt to try.

since i actually have enough real money saved to not worry about finding another job for a while, i'm fine having all this free time on my hands and not needing to deal with customers.

Lerad: Well, good luck. I am hoping something to keep you afloat alongside it comes your way before too long.

It is another sunless morning in Omaha, NE, and rather cold.

Well, my parents caught COVID. Both are over 60, Dad has Type II diabetes (under control) and Mom has Parkinson's. So this is not great. Mom says she feels like she just has a cold, but Dad is seeking treatment.

I am thankful I'm in the same city, so I can run errands for them.

Yeah, fortunately I haven't seen either of them since Thursday of last week, so I might be okay. But I imagine my dad's coworkers are going to have to self-quarantine for awhile.

id just like to clarify that im technically not an adult

however, I do believe that, with my ridiculous amount of opinions and keen sense of snark, i could qualify as a crotchety old bitch (but just to be clear i go by they/them).

so.

the section of Pokemon: Fire Red where you fight six trainers in a row on the bridge was a bitch, huh?

Man, my Cyberpunk RED players completely surprised me yesterday. I thought they were gonna prep an ambush for a small group of Petrochem corporate soldiers. Instead they rammed them, wrecking the Nomad player's car. Then in a later turn, the Solo player killed the surviving two soldiers with a grenade (despite them only having 2 HP each) and took out the entire front end of said wrecked car. I was like "what."

Great game though, and Sunday is the spinoff game from that group that has the Solo player and our old friend from here, Drunk Scriblerian.

Mark: Man wish I could game with you guys. Would be a blast.

My wife has given me a succulent plant. I fear for it. I am a notorious plant killer even when caring for a plant following directions. I have the black thumb.

My parents are doing well. They got the monoclonal antibody infusions that are reserved for high risk patients, and that did the trick. Phew!

The cat had a close encounter with deer today. The neighbors have been throwing bird seed into the snow by their patio, which has spurred hungry deer to venture awful close to our building. Oddly, going off my cat's body language, he didn't see the deer as prey or a threat, and was merely curious.

Scion: Very good. Glad to hear they get that treatment. One of my guards his fiancee tested positive so he is having to hunker down even inside his own home to avoid catching it. They took him off work for a full ten days.

Ahh, the Urban deer of Omaha. I encountered some at my last guard post a number of years ago. I was waiting for my wife to pick me up from work and felt myself being watched quite intensely while I was reading an E-book. I look up and there is a deer just watching me as it ate some of the grassy plants off of the parking lot islands. This was in La Vista next door to Pay Pal.
