I can actually see that being an option.Though I think some should stay, I do think certain ones do belong in museums in order to preserve them in a historical manner. I also think you can use these statues to talk about people saw the war as well.

awwwww, that's sweet.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youSince our own Mars rover is also in danger of doing the same thing, it behooves us to show some sympathy.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Our Mars Rover has lived weeeeelll beyond its life expectancy. One of them has, anyway.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI do think sometimes she gets too strawmanny with Brother America's language.
Brother America's dialogue there was a quote of a tweet someone sent when China's rover was pronounced dead.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.
That makes a little bit more sense.
Not really, they’re already doing the maximum damage to American democracy that they can without breaking the law, tearing down the statues by force may provoke a few into commiting illegal acts, but they can be dealt with by federal forces.
We needed the cooperation of many former Nazis to rebuild Germany, but we still didn’t let them put up statues of Hitler all over Germany and pretend that German soilders fought for a worthy cause and ont eh side of good.
The Nazis were forced to accept that they were on the wrong side at gunpoint, if need be I fail to see why the same can’t be done with the descendants fo confederates.

"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranBecause 153 years ago is a very long time. Modern day "descendants of Confederates" are very far removed by several generations from the actions and ideas of their ancestors.
That's not how you learn from history, you don't punish today's people for the actions of those who came before.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Because right now, they're winning. Think about that, very carefully, before you start agitating for a second Civil War. You seem to be presuming that the good guys will win.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."I mean the ideological descendants, not the blood descendants. The neo-confederate movement and the KKK continue to be an issue and need to be eliminated, by force if need be. They have commited crimes and continue to do things that should by right be outlawed.
Winning one election with the help of a foreign government is a far way from winning the wider battle for the nation’s soul.

This is going into slippery territory because you can outlaw outward displays, but you will just drive them underground rather than stop it. It also feels like a generalization of the whole Southern populace rather than some worrisome elements.
While Russia influenced the election, it's false it outright helped Trump win.

They campaigned heavily on his behalf. A ridiculous number of Russian-manufactured false news was Conserative-biased meant to misrepresent or outright slander Hillary.
It's a generalization that rolls off the tongue a lot more smoothly than listing each detail, in detail. It also happens to be true.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThis is starting to feel like an OTC thread, folks. Please rerail.
I'm sure those kids will turn out fine.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."What is up with Russia?
The USA has the Bald Eagle and American bison of course.

It's just funny a lot of European countries have lions as emblem, even though they are not native to them. On the other hand, Lions at one point did exist in Europe in Prehistoric times.
Scotland has the unicorn. For some reason.
Avatar SourceWe have a beaver (for was good for exploiting economically reasons, not it looks cool reasons obviously)
Those medieval unicorns were far from the cute, harmless beasties you think of today. Note how on the British coat of arms, it is the unicorn, not the lion, who is chained. Unicorns were considered THAT dangerous.
Optimism is a duty.
Well, unicorns in legend are supposed to be more wild than their tamer modern incarnations.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicorn
"In heraldry the unicorn is best known as the symbol of Scotland. The unicorn was chosen because it was seen as a proud and haughty beast which would rather die than be captured, just as Scots would fight to remain sovereign and unconquered."

Brazil has picked what is arguably the most annoying bird in the entire country. Sadly, that does make for a good mascot, all things considered.
Wouldn't it be more simple to write a plaque or two with a historically accurate and brief biography (no romanticisms or embelishments) of the people represented in said stautes?
