Disney getting into the aquired anime streaming wars, not just originals, is still werid yet intriguing.

Ive seen some people worry about censorship and I dont think there is moch to fear on that front, the show is still produced by Studio Pierrot and Disney+ has the Netflix Marvel shows uncensored on it and here in Europe even several R rated Fox movies.

If they will simulcast is what Im more worried about, Summertime Rendering set a bad precedent on that front.

An entire season becomes available for English streaming a couple weeks after the season finishes airing week-by-week on Japanese TV, as opposed to the average streaming service, that releases episodes week-by-week at the same time they debut on TV.

Toei also doesn't work on Bleach, Studio Pierrot does.

There's also indications it may just be for Japan and Asia, as Disney + has done this with other shows that have appeared on Crunchyroll like Spy X Family.

I *think* it's an impression as it sounds slightly different to JYB and too smooth to be an AI.

So, binging through the old Big 3 of shonen at a volume a day for each of them. Finally starting on Bleach, chapters one through seven.

Kubo's a big Music fan, not too disimilar to Hirohiko Araki of Jo Jo fame.

Doesn't surprise me. His art style has a bit of a...I dunno if "rock n' roll vibe" makes sense, but that's how I'd describe it.

On that note they released a 20th anniversary edition of the first volume of the manga 2 weeks ago with a special cover of cover art from when the series first came out in 2001

Hopefully they do so for the rest of the series cause I'm pretty sure a good deal of the volumes are currently out of stock

Opinions vary on exactly what point it goes downhill, but that is basically the consensus among the larger manga community, yes. Personally I'd say it's around volume 30 or so.

I literally don't remember any of this syory with the Soul King happening. Did I drop the manga at some point or something?

Also, at 12:18, Yumichika is really being a dick to not use his true zanpakuto, which would be damn near perfect for this exact scenario. Ikkaku should've used his bankai, but that isn't AS bad.

Squad 11's general mindset was actually pretty toxic, and it would have been nice if it had been called out as such.

Bleach is a pretty deeply cynical series when you think about. The main characters side with a status quo that's honestly pretty awful because the only people presenting alternatives are unbelievably awful. I suspect it would've been different if Kubo had gone with his original draft of keeping the Karakura Krew as the main cast, admittedly.

Tellingly even in 2015 when Ichigo is already 29 he's still learning new fucked up things about Soul Society
